Almost 2 months clean

Well time is flying and I’m approaching 60 days clean from opioids. Today is day 57! I never thought this would be possible. Day 60 will actually fall on my birthday, so that’s 2 reasons to celebrate! I will be 33 this year…

I thought that I would be hooked on oxy for the rest of my life and I resigned myself to that fate. I have been going to meetings, I have a good friend who has agreed to be my sponsor and life is going pretty good right now.

I am taking some other steps to improve my life as well by getting some debt under control. Something I never could have done when in active addiction. I was more worried about how much money I had for drugs more than worrying about paying my bills.

I have also earned some trust from my doctor and he has increased me to one witnessed dose a week and carries for the rest of the week. I was going 4x a week for a witnessed dose of Suboxone but I have had a bunch of clean drug tests and the doctor can see that I am improving so he gave me some extra privileges. It’s really nice to only have to go to the pharmacy once a week instead of four times lol.

Well, thanks for reading my update. I’ve been kind of quiet lately but thats because I am working night shifts and haven’t quite got the pattern of sleep down yet lol…

Thanks for reading, I hope you all are doing well today.

Be proud mate and but always aware of the knife edge we walk.

Thanks! Yes something my friend tells me is that your addiction is doing pushups in the parking lot so be careful.

Accountability with incremental freedom was also what worked for me.

How we doing now? I’m learning this app.. and wondering if you’re still going at it? Hope so! ODAAT

Congratulations….

@Jordan93 Congrats on almost 60 days of sobriety! I really relate to what you said. I also spent way too much money on drinking, especially buying for people who wouldn’t support me or even call me if I wasn’t buying for them.

I wasted a lot of money, but the past is the past, and I’ve accepted it. I’m 32 days clean from alcohol and other substances, and one day at a time, I’m rebuilding my life.

Keep going, brother. 60 days is a huge milestone! :folded_hands:
