Anthem of the Day (Part 1)

I’m not much of a Rammstein fan tbh, but I have always enjoyed there aesthetic. They use some really cool imagery and the live shows are really impressive. With industrial I like some of the older bands, Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Front 424 etc. And I love Godflesh for the more industrial metal stuff. But I would say SWANS are my favourite. Incredible band.

Thats all cool bud, I’ve gone so up and down with music like I went from listening to like nothing but Norwegian Black metal to like edm just pounding Tiesto, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, into synthwave and now back into industrial as my step back into metal music, its been a ride this last year :metal: more music more diversity thats the way I look at it right?

Namesake of the thread this song hits home every day I pound the shit out of it on the stereo. Its a good day tgif everyone :metal:

Because NIN is amazing. I was obsessed with Trent and Jonathan Davis from Korn when I was in high school.

I like NIN. Saw them just once in 95. It was David Bowie and NIN. I think at the time most people were just there to see NIN. But I was happy to see Bowie too. Wow that was a long ass time ago.

Bye for now…

That must have been unreal! Trent has stated David Bowie as one of his biggest inspirations, two very iconic and influential musicians and in pop culture for sure :metal:

Wow so ya found it on the tube. Not sure if this was filmed in Denver where I saw it, but it’s the same tour.

Absolutely. I’ve always had a passion for music and have a pretty eclectic taste, but as my alcoholism progressed my music taste narrowed a lot. In the years leading up to getting sober I was pretty much listening to death and black metal exclusively, really miserable stuff. When I got sober I suddenly couldn’t listen to it. Like a switch. I think as my brain was trying to make some sense of itself after years of abuse I couldn’t handle such dark and hectic music. Come to think of it, I barely listened to music at all for the first few months of sobriety, I had recovery podcasts on full time instead. It was quite challenging learning to listen again without being drunk/high, but now I consider exploring new music and being excited about it again as one of the best things about sober life :+1:
