You ever get into Throwdown mate ? A really good straight edge band that hits bloody hard. Amazing live…

I’ll check this out its not a genre I’ve dove too far into, I’m more the black metal/death metal dude  that’s my realm but these days it’s mostly industrial and synthwave music :metal:

Such a sexy song, Dire Straits brings back so many memories for me from growing up

Yeah me too, Throwdown just have a heaviness that works. My usual bands are Marduk, Pig Destroyer, Immolation, Decide and 1349…They are on my most played list. Love early stuff like The Birthday Party, Joy Division etc and a bunch of electronic stuff. Mixed bag lol

I met Kai actually (all of Nightwish) years ago on a tour and I told him when I saw him with Wintersun he’s easily one of the most technical drummers I’ve seen perform, I guess they can make more money with Nightwish and tour cause Wintersuns Jari hasn’t done much with the band in its 20 years of being around

Me and a few mates have always referred to them as Cowboys from Throwdown  I forget what the album is called but it had that High Roller tune on it. Sounds so much like Pantera. Good stuff.

So many great Finnish metal bands. I don’t know if true or not but is was a really common ‘fact’ that people would say years back that Finland was officially the worlds most metal country. I think they used the stats from Metallum Encyclopedia and could see that Finland had more metal bands per capita than anywhere else. Totally believable.

When I was at the peak of my record collecting I traded and became friends with a couple of Finnish guys. They turned me on to a load of bands I would never have found out about. Some of my favourites:

Death metal - Demilich, Depravity, Convulse
Doom death - Rippikoulu, Hooded Menace, Krypts
Doom - Reverand Bizarre, Thergothan, Skepticism
Black metal - Beherit, Impaled Nazarene, Archgoat
