" In the shelter of each other the people live" - An Irish proverb
The quote itself, preceding the song, reminds me of the spirit and safety of TS.
The song reminding me of the world, and the need for unity… and safety.
Playing For Change did an excellent job here with this, my first time to see it.
This one is for Ethan, miss you man
Kill your demons kill’em dead
In your mirror, in your bed
In your heart, in your head
My pleasure. Hope you have a great Saturday too!
Amazing! I saw Ibeyi! Fillmore, San Francisco, April 2018!
The Fillmore has a bowl of red apples inside the door for everyone to take!
Editing to add this article I found, googling about the tradition of the Fillmore giving away the apples. The LA writer was there the night I was and also saw the Ibeyi concert! Cool!
Happy memory!
My personal photos from the concert.
This is my absolute favorite Rolling Stones song
I played In a band years ago and dude was like a record snob like oh it has to be like the record, note for note, and I never really liked that idea it gets boring.
Like one of my favorite guitar solos is Alive by Pearl Jam, I learned the recorded version of it, and it is kinda cool, but I added my own flavor to it, still sounds very much like the solo. Just little nuances here and there.
Same with Lit Up by buckcherry. The solos are strictly G Pentatonic, I spiced them up an bit with some notes from the minor scale and harmonics. Boom. Sounded fuller, and was more fun to play.
I know what you mean about playing music with people like that. After you go through that Enough times you can pretty much Be able to tell pretty quickly what you’re dealing with when you meet new people to play with .
I definitely appreciate you reaching back. And most of the time I’m looking up the things you’re talking about because I don’t understand the language. It’s just been my ear for a long time and trial and error.
I been treating the music like A 9 to 5. Just been getting up with the recovery routine and making sure to try to eat, then just pretty much playing music the whole entire day, but when I get tired I’m just researching or watching interviews… Then night time it’s just reflecting on everything or reaching out to the sober community I’m really grateful to be able to work on everything as much as I want. And I’m trying to take advantage of this time while I can. So literally anytime you’re reaching back with Music stuff I’m definitely reading it and utilizing.
I have never enjoyed listening to someone scream as much as this in my life… it is my phone ring tone.
