Yes it is. Now let’s get married.
People get married based on far less nowadays might as well
I’m SO in!
I’ve never been married BUT I always was uhm “lucky” enough to find partners that were awful
I know, it’s not always them alone, it’s also me but I’m single now since…oof…14/15/16??? years?
I mostly love it this way
Anyway, I hate V day for several reasons.
It’s the marketing of such days.
V day? Flowers! Cake! Love! You must be happy today!
X Mas? Be merry! Sing! Can’t sing? Sing anyway!!
Carnival? Dress up in the most awful plastic thing you can find, get drunk and kiss strangers!
Meh
I feel ya on that one thank you
The idea of an Anti-Carnival thread was born here
I’m so in on that. To derail my own thread: I always dress as “The nice psychopath in the neighbourhood”
No effort and NO discussions.
To stay on topic: My appointment was nice but some really unnecessary, unwanted, disturbing information from a person busted my feeling good afterwards. So back into anti-valentine mode
I wouldn’t say I’m anti valentine but the hubs is Each year I get him a card and candy but out of the 14ish years we have been together he has gotten me something maybe 9-10 times. The times he has gotten something it is always last minute. Last year he went by the store after work on his way home and got me flowers. They were like the last flowers left but that was probably the best year because I am so use to not getting anything that I was surprised. I think there are a lot of factors for my feelings around this day -obviously social media brings up feelings of jealousy but also I wish I felt appreciated regularly. I think if I felt appreciated on the reg I wouldn’t even care about this day.
I don’t like this day. Although, the lunch lady at work gave me a candy yesterday, so that was nice!
After work I went to my local Edeka grocery store to get some sweets and vegan minced meat for my (awesome) spaghetti sauce.
I was surrounded by men that behaved like those characters in games that just stand there, in some kind of waiting position. Everyone with flowers in their hands, it looked like someone copy-pasted them around the store
Now my belly is full with delicious bolognese and spaghetti and 2 oreo donuts smile at me
Oh boy, even the news are full with Valentine blablabla
I’m treating myself with pasta too @Sabrina80
Had a looong nap in the afternoon, with horrible nightmares. WTF??? Life, are you kidding me???
I need to pamper me a bit more in the evening, yummi lunch, scented foot bath and nap was not enough. So pasta, series, fire in the stove, catcuddles and blankie for the rest of the day!
Hugs to you all, you are wonderful
Id hate to get a gift and flowers because society pressured them too because ‘everyone else is doing it’…
Much rather spontaneous bunch of flowers…
I’ll wait 30 more minutes then it’s time to push some weights
And I even found the perfect workout music for that
Hugs all around!
I love the idea! I hate Valentine’s Day. Been single 3 years after a 7 year relationship and that’s not an experience I would go through again for all the money in the world, no matter how many phony holidays they want to force on us. It’s all marketing anyway.
We got a £9.99 Lego set of two roses and just made one for each other. I got them in January as they were cheap and I’ve never done Lego
Fairly fun. And I like that they look pretty and last all year! No waste.
I don’t like the wouuuzaaa around this date. I am glad it was a productive and calmer day at work.
I made a colleague laugh which was unexpected and brought some joy.
Oh i love these!! What a great idea. Reminds me of Belle’s rose
I might treat myself to one
I love how you used a heart for the vase!
Not against Valentines but not for it either. Never really done anything special for it but I did start buying myself flowers and chocolate on the date years ago (haven’t done this since Covid)
Do believe in self pampering and care Grateful I will not let this day bring me down or make me feel alone Sending love and hugs to all of my friends out there (with or without partners).
You may, let it out
