The color purple should be a mandatory book in schools around the planet. Absolutely uncensored.

It is an incredible book and frequently banned at schools in the USA.
I am a big Alice Walker fan. Reading Possessing The Secret of Joy, as well as The Temple of My Familiar when they were first published was mind expanding. She is brilliant.

Definately going to be reading more of her books. This reminds me of The Handmaids Tale.

Nele Pollatschek: Kleine Probleme (Small Problems)
The story follows Lars, a 49-year-old aspiring writer, who has a long list of small tasks he has been putting off - things like doing taxes, cleaning the apartment, and assembling a bed for his daughter. With his family out for the day, he decides to finally tackle everything on the last day of the year, hoping to start the new year with a clean slate.
However, Lars quickly finds that his own thoughts, distractions, and indecision turn even the simplest tasks into a chaotic, humorous struggle. The book explores the tiny, relatable struggles of everyday life, blending comedy and subtle melancholy, and reflecting on procrastination, family life, and the pressure to “get things done“.

Have you read “The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared” by Jonas Jonasson? Very funny, as is “Look Who’s Back” by Timur Vermes; this had me in stitches.

Starting a new novel, written by one of my favourite authors.
„Love in Serious Times“ is a novel about five women in Leipzig whose lives quietly intersect. Each faces love, loss, freedom, and responsibility in very different ways. The book is honest, unsentimental, and deeply human — less about romance and more about what love really means when life gets complicated.

Aside from my recovery Bible, I would suggest the cross and the switchblade. It’s a great book. It’s old but one that proves there is opportunity for change. Very inspirational.

Any Warhammer fans out there? I’m on book 16/51 of the Horus Heresy series and have loved every book so far! This book, Age of Darkness, is the second book of short stories I’ve read in the series so far and I really enjoy them! Totally different than my usual long book pattern!

It was okay, a little overblown for my taste. Have you ever read The Prince of Tides? Kind of a classic in the genre.
