Despite the fact that we are friends, I was compelled to read it in one sitting. It is more or less written in dialogue form and is very easy to read. There are valuable words/lessons/concepts in there to individuals and to the mental health community itself. I applaud her and I am very happy for her. Most especially for getting through what she did. @Tragicfarinelli
Amazing. Sounds like a really valuable contribution. ![]()
I just read it in one go as well (with some hours of sleep as a break in between). I never cried so much and for so long in my life. For me, for you, for her, for us all here. Only thing I can say against it is that it all ends so well. Which is so American in a way. Saying that laughing though. Thanks for being a bit pushy on me to read it friend. Lots of love.
Oh I LOVE his trilogy!!!
I’ve been stuck for a few days choosing my next book, and I think this may do the trick. I’ve not heard of it before.
It isn’t The Stand, but it is a good series that I quite enjoyed. I especially liked this first book.
And it was made into a series, just 1 season tho.
Started this one yesterday. My goal is somehow to finish all the books I started some time ago ![]()

I heard about this book yesterday during a podcast. They were talking about families that moved west and about children being laughed at as they were not using the ‘correct’ word for their mother and father. This made me sad.
This podcast was a great listen it had me captivated from the begining. Im currently looking for more of the same.
Ok I am happy to report that my first impression of The Great Gatsby was mistaken. What a tremendous and beautifully written story! I see now why it is a classic.
Going to sit here and bask in the dopamine contentment that comes after finishing a satisfying read. Ahhhhhhhh.
I listened to James on audiobook by Percival Everett tonight. Normally I prefer to read my books but I think the audio version might be superior here.
Highly recommended. I can’t get it out of my mind in a very good way.
I have been wondering about that one, such good press.
This one had a very slow start, but I am thankful I stuck with it. Told from various viewpoints, family and friend drama. Quite enjoyable.
Absolutely worth a listen. Tough content but so well done.
I’m starting today with wise words, and a backup book of all the words.
I have forgotten more religious words than I’ve retained.
