I’m just about to start reading this book of late pastor Tim Keller. I’ve read several his books and I absolutely love them. Looking forward to read this book of his journey.
Just finished The Bee Sting by Paul Murray. Has anyone read it? I’d appreciate people’s thoughts. There are parts I quite enjoyed but goodness it was a slog… and I’m not sure what for 
I think Murray also just gave up at the end !

This one has been very enlightening. There is so much about how Big Alcohol developed a whole campaign to bring women into the drinking culture and how they marketed and continue to market to women in a specific and enticing way. One tidbit that I also picked up from this book is that wine coolers, hard lemonade, zimas, that sort of stuff is called “alco-pop” and is specifically designed to make liquor more palatable. UGH I used to feel weak and mad at myself for letting alcohol get its grip on me. Now I see that there is a much bigger picture and I can turn more of that anger outward, not inward.

Ann is one of the leaders in my TLC group. I LOVE HER! AND I loved that book way before I joined TLC and was so surprised to see her there.

I liked this. Super odd character development with a story I am fairly certain I’ve never read before. I remember the ending being abrupt but I did like it over all.

I think you’re right - I loved the characters, especially Imelda. But the end… it just stopped after such a long journey

I’m currently reading three books:
Dopamine Nation is a deep look into dopamine and how it intersects in a critical way with addiction - and what we can do about it.
Sunrise on the Reaping is the second prequel novel to the Hunger Games trilogy - it’s a pure entertainment read.
Kite Runner is set in the middle east. It’s about the betrayal of friendship; regret over very poor choices; and a kind of redemption - interestingly, although being set in a foreign culture, it’s the most relatable book of the three for me.

It blows my mind that you can have 3 books on the go at the same time ! My friend likens it to watching tv … you wouldn’t just watch one tv programme exclusively and before starting another. But I’m not that gal. 
What do you think to Dopamine Nation? I read it a couple of years ago and enjoyed some of it (other parts made me a little uncomfortable) but I loved Dr. Lembke on the Huberman Lab podcast - have you heard it? I sometimes go back to that one to re-listen.
I’d love to hear what you think about Kite Runner too - I’ve not read that yet X

I’m a many book reader myself.
The Therapeutic Journey and The Small Assassin are physical books. The other two are ebooks. The romance title is new for me but I’m liking the change of pace.
I also just bought another bookshelf. It’s a good problem to have.

The Kite Runner was one of my favourite novels when I read it about 20 years ago. I remember it to be an absolutely amazing reading experience. Enjoy!!
