Any Experiences with a SCRAM Anklet?

Hello, All!
I’ve recently had a SCRAM Anklet put on as a part of PreTrial conditions and so far, no complaints when considering the alternatives I was facing.
It feels like a light ankle weight, slightly uncomfortable, but no big deal. I appreciate the accountability factor.
I was wanting to hear your stories, if willing to share.

Specifically, cleaning. I’ve read the paperwork and looked online that a mild soap around and under is perfectly fine as long as there is no alcohol content, but tried to look up the best way to do so and couldn’t find anything too descriptive.
Of course I’m worried about false positives and triggering anything that would qualify as tampering when cleaning. I got so scared when it was caught on my tights and have since bought bell bottoms :joy:

I’m also taking a trip to Texas to visit family next week, which has been okay’d and have also read that TSA is fine with it, but will swab around it. I’ve tried to look further into what products they would use to make sure those weren’t alcohol based and haven’t found anything too concrete.

Anything helps!
Thanks for your time, everyone!

It sounds like the bell bottoms were a good idea as they warn away from leggings and tights here…

Idk anything other than what I read there, hopefully someone can assist and we can all learn more.

The info does say to contact your SCRAM systems contact for questions not answered…so perhaps try that as well. I would specifically ask about hydrogen peroxide. I do see it states soap and water, so that sounds reasonable. Would qtips work?

Good luck and keep us posted!!

I had to wear one a few times before the older versions weren’t as advanced, but the new scram bracelets are pretty sensitive at picking up trace amounts of alcohol. Once i was going in for a check up and i rinsed my mouth with listerine that morning and it showed a spike, but i quit using it after that, usually it was not a problem with other products, kept me sober and gave me a good reason to stay that way. Is a great device to deter drinking, some will decide they need to drink and the consequence usually is jail

Thank you for sharing! I’ve always stayed away from mouthwash just because I don’t like the sensation :joy:
And yeah, no way I’ll be drinking! This anklet is definitely a great motivator, I’m excited for it to be a start on continued efforts when it’s off.
