Oh WOW @StayinStrong1128! The false high of meth is a hard one too-well they all are. My adult son and I were talking earlier (he is in recovery and re entry for just shy of 120 days now. It’s been 15 years. He asked me to listen to this song as we spoke earlier. Immediately my heart sunk after hearing the title but I reacted calmly and after we had a great and honest talk-(during his lunch break working a real job!), I went to you tube and listened to this song ā€œMethamphetamineā€.
Even if you already know it I’d like to share the refrain for a reminder and for others trying to recover from meth. Keep going strong the worst is behind you! Old Crow Medicine Show:
"It’s gonna rock you like a hurricane
It’s gonna rock you till you lose sleep
It’s gonna rock you till you’re out of a job
It’s gonna rock you till you’re out on the street
It’s gonna rock you till you’re down on your knees
It’s gonna have you begging pretty please
It’s gonna rock you like a hurricane
Methamphetamine.
I had to read it many times to realize that being rocked liked a hurricane is NOT a good thing.
Keep strong and do what you’ve been doing to live health!!!

You go girl!! You’re on your way and know what to do at this point! If you ever do have to look back-don’t stare-reach out. I don’t have to imagine the great positive changes in your life…I know them personally! Keep forward!

71 days and thinking of going to my first meeting tonight. Had a panic attack earlier and all of a sudden started thinking dope made me normal. I’ve done several things to keep the craving as it is, just a craving. I can’t go back to that life

Adding a recovery program and the fellowship adds a whole other level to your recovery in sobriety. I’m proud of you. It takes a strong women to know when she’s in trouble and needs to face it.

I have horrible social anxiety but I just got a sitter about to head to my very first NA meeting. Thank you for the support , it always nice hearing someone’s proud of you. I literally went to detox, got out and after getting a second chance..moved back to my grandmothers with my kids , made a new facebook, changed my #, and haven’t gone out unless its for the kids or groceries. After these 71 days I literally speak to 1 person, which is my bestfriend but that’ll probably change too because ive changed my whole life and think we’re on different paths. Thanks to this group I have internet ā€œadultā€ time lol. Anywho, thanks again!!! Kinda want to puke and not even there yet

You’re going to be okay. Going to your first meeting is always scary. We build it up in our head and make it more than it actually is.

I did it ! Going back tomorrow  nice being accepted and welcomed. Anxiety overload for sure but ill get use to it hopefully

Congrats on getting your key tag!! My first meeting I was too scared to introduce myself as being new and getting the white tag… By the end of the month I was so excited to get my 30 day one, so don’t worry it won’t take long for the anxiety to lessen and you’ll start feeling more comfortable

I been on and off meth for the last year and this is my thrid try in recovery I am hoping to kick it this time for good. I suggest what’s working for me if I keep my but in meetings and reach out to others in Recovery and my family when I want use the most it seems to be what’s helping me most this time. You got to want it. Recovery works if you work it. I also herd why do we do circles at the end of meetings so we don’t do lines that to me makes a lot of sense and it has stuck with me. Best wishes.

I am about 25 hours in, i had been clean almost 5 months but relapsed last weekend. Now im utilizing this app and id like to thank everyone for sharing. Relapse is hard and for me i have a self image issue and im being selfish by losing weight the quick and easy way, and i know ill regain it back. I ought to know better. Another problem for me is sitting idle at home too much. I am going to try and get a routine for staying busy every hour of everyday, maybe itll distract me. Until then i hope you all the very best and congrats on your 677 days :+1:

Yes it’s normal for your body to tell you to stop doing drugs. I’m not making a joke I just want to be clear. Get out before it gets harder. Don’t ignore your gut.

Im 3 days sober…trying to deal with the guilt n shame i have…when will i get better…when i drink o crave drugs…such a ugly thing and i hate myself for it…trying to listen to positive words…gotta go back to work…
