Anyone else

Hey Everyone -

Im on day 3. I drank heavily for a little over a year & couldn’t take more than a 2 day break. Im on day 3. Day 2 - yesterday… i had terrible body aches, cravings, back pain, body jolts and anxiety. Today, i feel just a tad bit better but feel super tired. This is my first time with alcohol addiction for myself & i dont know if this is normal.
I’ve taken care of, babysit, and ‘rescued’ alcoholics my whole life but never thought i would be in this spot but happy im choosing recovery instead of drinking more.

Thanks

Alcohol withdrawl symptoms range from a mild headache to seizures and everyrhing in between.

Symptoms usually begin to fade after a few days and gone in a couple of weeks.

If these symptoms last longer than a few weeks and do not lessen in intensity over time, you might want to consult a doctor.

In the mean time, take care of yourself and get as much reat as you can.

Be well

Hi Rose86,

Stay strong, because the first days/weeks are always the hardest. Day by day you will be feeling better. I wish the best for you! Keep coming back to the community here!

Much love from Amsterdam and keep the days racking up!

A helpful tool here is the search function. Refine your search, or broaden using key words.

I did and found many topics, life experiences to read about.

The checking in daily thread is a pretty good place to start.
