I know most people here attend AA but I don’t hear about CR meetings much. Just curious if anyone else has ever gone.
I was looking at the website because there is one right by my house. I haven’t gone yet. Have you been to 0ne?
I have been. They are pretty good. They are a Christianity based recovery program. There are some really nice folks. Hope you enjoy if you try it out.
I like it because they use the 12 steps with a biblical perspective. They are really into fellowship and making connections with new people. The ones I’ve been to have a dinner, the teaching for the night, small groups, then dessert. You can go to one or all of those. I’ve made some good friends through CR. It’s for anyone with any type of addiction or struggle. I would recommend it for anyone who is interested in a faith-based program.
I know @Finallyclarity and I go to CR. I enjoy the fellowship very much. It is different from A.A. in the sense A.A. is raw and CR polishes it a bit. I currently go to 3-4 AA meetings a week and CR once a week. But I live in a very rural area in Kansas and CR is only once a week. I will definitely continue to attend my CR group.
I am glad you posted this.
I had not heard of this, and just found one near my house.
I love AA. Will always be home there. But, thanks to AA I am wanting more God in my life.
I’m glad you found a meeting nearby. They’re usually held at churches. I know quite a few people who go to CR and AA. You don’t have to choose one or the other, just choose whatever works for you. Sometimes that’s a combination of things. I’d love to hear what you think of it if you end up going.
I really enjoy CR. It keeps me grounded. The people there are very supportive. They offer different groups for different issues.
I go to celebrate recovery. It is a great support system to add to your week. It helps me stay busy on a night where otherwise I would be stuck in my head and down time is a killer of sobriety. It’s good to go to where you can get relational with like minded individuals. It’s also a safe environment where you can talk about anything and everything just like AA or NA of course. It is something I look forward to each week. It’s something I would highly recommend to anyone in recovery from day 1 to 5+ years. It doesn’t matter what stage of recovery you’re in. I guarantee you’ll get something more out of each visit.
I do. Quite some years now. It’s incredible. I have 13 years sobriety to go with it
Still here, still sober
