I find talking about baseball or any sport really gives me something to help me stay sober!
Who’s your favorite player/team? Mine is Mike Piazza/the Mets
David Ortiz. Do you still watch the Mets?
How long have you been sober Dan? I have a Boston Red Sox sickness. 32 years! I thought the series this year was amazing.
St. Louis all the way. Hope they make some good moves during spring training to get back on track.
Rangers fan here! and talk about rise and fall due to addictions. I got to see Josh Hamilton do some amazing things on the field. He was unbelievable to watch. But all time favorite player is probably Randy Johnson.
I’m a Randy fan as well. Grew up in the Pacific NW and was a fan. Watched him in Seattle, then moved to Arizona in 2001 and watched him and Schilling dominate the National League as a Diamondback.
Of course! Can’t wait to have Cespedes back on the field
Uh as a Red Sox fan, 2004 was just a little better! 4 days… Went to ER and I have a gastric ulcer. And I still wanted a beer today. Aggghhhh!!!
Yes we appreciate the small towns! I agree there was no stopping the “Sox” in 2013. But it was because the whole city got behind them. And they weren’t going to disappoint! I am a baseball fan as well as a Red Sox fan. I love the fact that whiny Bautista is getting no offers. Get what you give.
Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m actually a minor league fan. I grew up watching and loving the single A Eugene Emeralds back in Oregon and now that I’m in Durham I love my triple A Bulls! Something about the rawness and pure desire to make the Bigs as well as those minute salaries. For the love of the game!
I am taking up new hobbies now that i am committing to sobriety… since baseball seems to be the thing to do “when in rome”… Im going to learn! I happen to know its never to late to teach an old dog new tricks and so I guess the same goes for an old bag. =)
I don’t even think Hawaii has a baseball team
Sober legue… sounds good. I’ll train my dogs how to play. lol
How is everyone doing with their sobriety? I did not drink today.
I grew up in Buffalo and followed the Bisons faithfully. I loved when big players came down to rehab. So close to them in those small parks.
The Blue Jays.
C’mon!
Texas can feel it…heh…
Last year too. It’s a beautiful thing.
Huge mets fan. Even have a tattoo of the logo on my arm.
And I a tattoo of the Boston logo. Do people always ask you if you are a Mets fan? I always say I lost a bet!
I am glad to be singular, from Baltimore here so i am a huge orioles fan, they have gotten better the last couple years. But i live in san diego now so i root for the padres as well and those poor bastards have to look up to see bottom. Since the is 119 days until opening day (who’s counting?), if anyone gets hulu or on demand, the show ‘Pitch’ is a pretty decent show about baseball. Get us through the off season.
