Back again (title has been used unsurprisingly)

Here again. What is there to say? I keep failing. The alcohol is killing me. The guilt is killing me. I hate this.

Are you willing to accept help? This post is similar to all you others. You come here desperate and in bad shape. People give suggestions, you get a few days sober then you disappear until your next relapse.

Sobriety is daily work. There ain’t no shortcuts or magic pills. Ya gotta do the work. The people here already have the road map so just follow the directions and you can get to where we are.

I know it is and I hate that. It’s a pathetic repeating pattern. I don’t know how to break out of it

Start by checking in here every day for 30 minutes a day for 30 days. Log in, read for 30 mins. Repeat the next day.

I struggled to break free from that pattern u speak about, for years. What was missing was daily recovery work. I developed a morning routine, one that included all recovery related stuff. It helped set the day for it to be recovery focused. Things that helped me, which i did daily was:

  • A 12 step meeting (in person or online)
  • Prayer to my HP
  • Daily recovery readings
  • I checked in twice a day on this forum (morning and evening)
  • I read a lot on this forum
  • Guided meditation
  • Morning affirmations
  • Exercise and healthy meals
  • Self care (usually happened in the evening).

But i really found it important to do these things daily. Even if i didnt feel like, i did it. Usually when i didnt feel like doing these things, thats when i needed it the most.

Id say read read and read here. Checkin more often. Engage with the community more and then read some more. Go to meetings. Listen to podcasts. Put more time into working sobriety then you did drinking

You have been active here for a total of 7 hours since joining this 943 days ago.

7 hours devided over that time has you AVERAGING only 27 seconds here a day. Less then half a minute in total.

Some people spend hours here a day. For myself personally. This app/ community is a major tool in my sobriety and I do lurk here for hours every day. And for the first time im stacking some good days.

Go to meetings. Temporarily deactivate social media. Stay away from the news. Pick up and finish the quit lit book you said you didnt finish because it was boring in an older post…
