Bad weekend 😔

Good morning Tuesday! So, over the weekend our vehicle was stolen. My husband and i are so devastated. My husband who i met in recovery. We went thru alot together, we supported each every step of our journey. That vehicle was special to us. We bought the vehicle during our recovery, knowing that was what we were going to need along with moving into a new place. Ahh my husband worked so hard on saving for that vehicle, was his work truck, he bought a tool box for the back bed, a stero system, recently bought new tires, it was giving us problems but we bought every car part it needed. Which was new starter, new alternator, new battery. Not to mention my husband just had finished his year of interlock and squared away all his court issue’s. That vehicle took us back to visit our families and took us everywhere we needed to go. We are so heartbroken that someone could just do this. We feel like a part of us was taken away from us. My husband who is an electrician goes to work every early morning. Now he rides the bus to work. This happening to us we encouraged one another and told each we still have each other, we still have a roof over our head, we are both physically okay. And we are both sober! Now we are going to accept this, and move on from it, having faith god has a new plan for us. Maybe a test for us, although it is tough to take in we are still standing strong. Waking up every morning with a positive attitude and thankful for another day.:heart:

Yes he had some of his electrician tools in there. Thank god it wasn’t any of the ones he uses at work… yes! Staying sober thru this is something they cant take.:pray:

Oh that’s just terrible! What about insurance? Did you file a claim? My husband and I hit a low in sobriety where we were losing everything (not due to addiction) and his truck caught on fire while he was driving. We had just invested money we didn’t have in brand new tires, new breaks and other repairs a week before. Thankfully, insurance paid for a total loss. It took about 2 months but at least they paid out. I can relate to your pain and frustration. We work so hard at doing the next right thing in sobriety and it sucks when the shit hits the fan.

Ugh definitely i hear you. And unfortunately my husband’s insurance was only liability :pensive: so we couldnt file any claim for stolen vehicle. So its a total lost. But now we learn from this. So next vehicle will have what we need with insurance policy. Now, back to saving up for another vehicle.

Ugh! That’s really unfortunate. We live and learn. Your sobriety opens so many doors and you’ll come back from this. Stay strong!

I took collision off my car and a few weeks later, I had a DUI accident and totalled it. The car was only 4 years old. Stupid move I made in more ways than one. Those were some hard lessons for me, but it’s what got me started on this sobriety journey so I’ll take it.

We did not, was our first vehicle so we just had liability. So its a total lost.

We did… and still no update. We already know its gone. Probably already stripped out. This neighborhood is awful. Its crazy how it was stioen right out out apartment complex parking lot. Its a gated complex also. Ugh…smh!
