Ways to avoid drinking beer?
dont buy it.
Have you tried filling your time with recovery work?
Take however much time and money you spend on booze and spend it on books about recovery, therapy, family time, date night, healthy food and a gym membership.

Most importantly, identify your motivation for quitting and be crystal clear about how and why it’s more important to you than drinking.
Personally I did this by getting a notebook and constantly writing down
lists,
notes and thoughts on what drinking was keeping me from achieving or being. Dreams I had for the future no mater how impossible they seem.
Moments of clarity ( that become more frequent the longer I don’t drink)
Uncomfortable memories of how I’ve behaved or treated people under the influence without realizing the impact I was having.
Pretty much anything that makes discovering my sober mind exciting and inspiring.
Here are the worksheets I started with and the first book I’ve read on sobriety.
Warm teas and ALWAYS carry a water bottle
Get into the habit of drinking something else. I experimented with different drinks so I had an alternative when the craving set in.
Try drinking different types of water. Water for me gets boring. There’s no flavor. So I buy those flavored water drops and flavored water. My fridge is full of flavored water right now. I love being able to reach in and grab one. I drink diet soda too but want to get off that. Ice Tea is delicious as well.
Has anyone tried a non alcoholic drink to curb the cravings?
