Beginners meditation and mindfulness

I am looking at meditation to help relax and focus my mind. Any advice as where to start, apps, videos etc…
Thanks for your help xx

Perfect, Thanks, I will try these tonight.

Downloaded an app called Meditation Studio. I really like their meditations and it’s broken up by topic (anxiety, happiness, gratitude, zen, etc). You can play different background noises too.

I also try restorative yoga which is more about laying still, learning to count breaths, and trying to make breaths get longer… 5 counts long inhale, 5 count long exhale… 6 counts long inhale, 6 count long exhale… 7 counts long inhale, 7 count long exhale…

You get the idea! Hope this helps!

I’ve only completed the first step but it seems really good and as far as I can tell it’s free

My therapist had me download the Calm app. I really like this one and the gal that voices them has a nice voice.

I also really like affirmations and meditations from PinchMeLiving.com. You can download them for a few bucks and I’ve got them uploaded to my phone and iPod. They’re great to listen to while I’m working or on a long drive home.

Headspace is a great one to start and when you get though the free stuff move onto insight timer. I’m on that one now. I mediate regularly. It’s become routine. I also listen to affirmations daily and while I sleep. I will get to where I want to be. Meditation has been the foundation I’ve started to build my new home on.
