I really enjoy both Terraforming mars and wingspan. I’ve only played once but looking forward to more games of Root. Takaido is one I enjoy too.

This game is one I love but be warned: it is heavy on history and tactical decision-making (it’s fun for people who love the nitty-gritty history details, not so much for people who like a faster, breezier game).
The original was published in 1974 and a new edition was just released this year:
