Hi Dana, I’m a bit late to the question but i would like to echo was said. looking into the why and listening if your body needed the fuel is good advice. no reset needed from my pov.
to share a similar experience: i had a glass of milk in the evening recently and wanted a biscuit to the milk. i ate one biscuit. afterwards i was satisfied and could fall asleep soon. my body was out of carbohydrates as i only had a late breakfast that day. i needed a bit of food because i can’t sleep when i’m hungry (i sometimes don’t FEEL hungry when i’m very tired but my body IS hungry).
thank you all for sharing your journey and your support and kindness, it helps me to navigate my own journey
i’ve been doing quite well lately, binges were rare and moderate, no dinner = no eating after 6 p.m. was going fine when i ate a healthy late lunch. sleep is better (but crap due to heat and exhaustion) when i don’t eat late.
i’m slowly finding a rythm that fits for this shitty hot summer. step by step, day by day. i keep going
Still doing well! I had a lunch out today, and was feeling full, and I still sometimes get that voice when I am full - Eat more! (Same as I sometimes get the voice when I am hungry - Don’t eat!) I ignored it, I can eat more later if I am really hungry, and soon got busy doing other stuff.
Day 55 binge free Day 1 free from disordered eating Hour 14 free come compulsive food behaviours
Hey everyone! Just wanted to check in. The last 3 days have been difficult. 3 days ago I engaged in a compulsive food behaviour (eating junk food in secret), then 2 days ago I ate out of emotion, and than yesterday I ate late at night when not hungry (another compulsive food behaviour). I did not binge any of those times tho thankfully (so that timer is still intact).
I realized that I have been getting complacent on my OA program. I havent been following my meal plan, or doing my morning routine, and i havent been exercising mearly as much as Id like to. I have been feeling fatigued and my mind is very much “in the food” lately. I feel like once I messed up 3 days ago, it just began to progress
Anyway, I have been going to OA meetings which help. And I re-did my meal plan yesterday to ensure that I am getting more protein and fiber in my meals (bcuz both were lacking). I am going grocery shopping this Monday, so I can get my healthy foods too. I even reached out on the OA support page on FB and a lady messaged me about being a potential sponsor.
I will pick myself up and try again Maybe I need to check in here more often also. You all help so much in this journey!
Day 1 free come compulsive eating behaviours Day 58 binge free Day 4 free from disordered eating
Coming up on 2 months of being binge free!! Cant honestly believe it!! And I finally have 1 day free from compulsive food behaviours also (such as late night snacking when not hungry). Feeling good today about my eating
Did my 2nd shot of 1mg of Ozempic today and I can sort of feel it helping already. More than other weeks anyway lol. I do have my weekly weigh in tomorrow but am unsure if the scale will go down as my eating wasnt great for a few days there.
Im also trying to get more movement in this week. I did a gym workout this morning which felt great! Trying to just be healthier overall!
Last couple of days I have been eating a little more than I would like. I am happy to have one portion of cookie or ice-cream or something a day, but recently have been finding excuses to have two. It is not binging, but it is not something I want to continue for long. Hopefully it is just a cycle thing and it will pass soon.
I am 1 day away from having a half year without binging!
Lately, I slipped into my old bad habit of eating in front of the telly This one is a huge trigger for me. So far I managed not to binge which is good news However, yesterday I had strong cravings for chocolate on which I used to binge. I almost went to the shop to buy it but instead I popped over at my neighbour as I needed to ask her a favour. She invited me in and we sat in her garden and talked about many things, one of them was eating disorders. She was sharing with me how her daughter was on border with anorexia and I then shared my experience with bulimia and binge eating. I am not used to talk about this with other people to be honest, so I surprised myself. I guess I wanted to give her as much insight into these issues as I could so she would be able to see how complex and difficult these disorders are. We really only touched a tip of the iceberg but I hope it was helpful for her. It was definitely good for me to remind myself of from where I came and what a journey I already walked… I sometimes forget that I am free from bulimia for years now and that is such a huge success. I remember suffering from it for like 6 years and I was at a stage when I would be binging and then purging multiple times daily! It was horrible and it also looked like something what will eventually consume me and that I will never ever be able to get rid of. But I did and so there’s a hope that I will continue killing the binge eating too. 6 months binge free is pretty great and I am very happy for getting there!
Today, I am flying to the Czech Republic to visit my family and for my cousin’s wedding. It can be challenging - there will be both, alcohol and lots of food. But I will concentrate on two things - spending my time with my nephew and the intention to go for a run the following morning when everyone else is going to be sleeping off their hungover. We’re staying in a village I haven’t been before and I already created a 5km route for myself to run.
I have amazing life and I am very happy Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
You are doing great Jana! So happy for you!
It can be so therapeutic to share. I am sure you did help her by opening up and give her sone insight into your journey
Glad you have a plan for the vacation and the wedding. Enjoy your time there
Awe Jana, i am soooo happy for you Things are really coming together for you with regards to ur eating! I truly do think that the conversation u had with ur neighbour was meant to be. Im glad that u didnt engage in that chocolate craving and that u are self-aware enough to avoid it.
Good luck on ur travels! Remember we are here for u if need be Youre not alone on this trip!
Day 62 binge free Day 8 free from disordered eating Day 5 free from compulsive eating
I have 5 days of complete abstience from compulsive foods and compulsive food behaviors today.
I WAS debating grabbing an “alcoholic food/trigger food” this morning at the coffee shop, but then decided against it. I dont want to have to reset again or feel the guilt and shame that comes with it. Playing that tape to the end!
Overall things are good with my eating. The GLP1 is definitly helping. I realized that i have been on my medication for a little over 2 months and that I have a little over 2 months free from binge eating. Coincidence? Idk lol but it obviously is doing something lol
Anyway, have an awesome day friends!! Much love to u all!!
