Hi everyone, it’s my birthday so it’s a big trigger day for me. My husband and I and our two eleven year olds are camping so you’d think it would be fine but my husband is a big drinker and brought plenty of my drink of choice. I’m only on day five after many stops and starts, but for my birthday this year what I really want is to quit drinking. For me. For my health. So I never have to wake up feeling like I’m going to die again. Please send me some good energy and strength vibes today.

I’m behind you 100%. It has to be hard being around it…Is there anyway to get hubby on board and not put it right in front of you? If its not there, I don’t drink it. I wish you a happy birthday and a great one at that with your family. I lost mine to alcohol… it happends.
I find now that being aware of the things I’m grateful for in my life helps me make better choices today, so I don’t lose anymore of them. Have a blast and staying sober will ensure you remember it all

@Artgirl. Hold strong girl! I am also a Jan bday and know I will be facing this same challenge. Just picture your am AFTER your bday…getting up having your coffee/tea and catching the sunrise FEELING LIKE A ROCKSTAR! Hubby can snore away and miss it because its the suns gift to you. I did it! I was so close to caving in, but I just want more for myself. I’m so tired of repeating the same cycle over and over again. I know there will be more tough moments but this was a big one. It feels good.

It does take will power,I used cocaine and have a bad heart. It took me almost dying to realize that my life is more precious than drugs. What I do is remind myself of endangering my heart more and not being here for my kids and the rest of my family when I get the erge to get high. I’ve been clean almost a month and that’s the best birthday day gift you can receive…the gift of LIFE, stay strong I know you can do it and you’ll be seeing plenty of more birthdays.

I was so glad to be hangover free, thanks for asking! I got up and took a walk with my kids without feeling like total crap, that was pretty great.
