Has anybody done a bone broth cleanse/diet, or anything similar? If so, how’d it go? Started a 10 day today. A little nausea at first, but it seems to have passed.
What is the Bone Broth Diet? The bone broth diet is a 21-day plan that involves eating Paleo for five days and fasting for two . During the five days of eating Paleo, you drink anywhere from one to three cups of bone broth. On the fasting days, you have three to six cups of bone broth.
I did a 3 day water diet a few months back. I used Kettle & Fire broth (highest protein). It didn’t taste good but worked. Dana White has a really good video about it. It’s what inspired me to do it. He went on the advise of Gary Brecka.
My understanding is that diets like paleo can have quite some ups and downs with a high likelihood of crashing, especially in the event of minor deviations.
Go carefully.
I recently asked my dietitian about fasting, liquid fasts, juicing etc. She said that many of the studies were done on young men who where already in good health. She went on to say that the results do not translate to people over 40 and is often more damaging than it is healthful.
If you haven’t already, I’d definitely recommend talking to your doctor and/or dietitian regarding diets/fasts like these. There may be better alternatives to achieving your health goals.
Why are you doing it? Is it being monitored by a medical professional?
Bone broth is a protein source to supplement a healthy diet. If you want to cleanse your system the best plan is to eat a healthy diet that has a good amount of fiber. You can’t short cut healthy living by doing fad cleanse diets.
Thanks, y’all. Doc approved.
