So I have been thinking for a while that I want a new hobby. Something that creates me time and helps me relax, and I am not hugely artistic at all lol. I have settled on a Bonsai tree. It is relaxing and an exercise in patience. I have ordered a Chinese Elm that is already about 4-5 years old and it should come in Wednesday.
Has anybody else tried growing a Bonsai tree? Any tips or advice?
I love it!!! I don’t have any experience with them but think they’re adorable! What a great hobby. Take pics and show us as you develop your new hobby!! 
They require a lot of care. I killed a few and gave up. Would love to try again now that I’m a bit older
I’ve always wanted a bonsai. I love trees of all shapes and sizes, but mini trees are especially cool!
Check out YouTube, I’m sure there are more bonsai videos than you could watch in a lifetime!
These are some Japanese ones. If you want to look up Japanese info on it, google 盆栽のやり方 as a start on the search engine and YouTube. You could probably follow along with the pictures/videos, and there are probably videos with subtitles. Please post some pictures when you get started!

I have done a lot of online research before buying one, I was just curious to see if anyone had personal experiences.

I don’t have any tips, but bonsai are so lovely. During the Flower Festival at Disney they have quite a display of bonsai, many are many decades old, some 90 years or older!! It is very inspiring and beautiful to see. It seems like a very relaxing hobby to pursue. I look forward to seeing your tree.
