Brand new to the group

Hello from Alaska my friends! Fairly new in recovery and brand new to this app and just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for having me. I’m seeing a lot of sincere and very thoughtful words coming from everyone and I’m looking forward to getting some advice of my own from you all! My name is Lindsay

Welcome to our awesome community. If you don’t mind me asking what’s your DOC? I have a few, opiods, alcohol and cocaine. Recovery hasn’t been easy but it’s definitely worth it. There’s another member on here from Alaska, her name is @Suzrene. Probably a few more but I can’t keep up with everyone.

My drug of choice is heroin. Started my relationship with opiates when I broke my back at a young age and dabbled in and out but didn’t fall hard into heroin until about two yrs ago. I’ve been sober for a month and I’m really gonna do it right this time. Sobriety over abstinence. Everything has benefited as a result from my business to my love life. I’m really excited and feeling very enthusiastic. I’ll be here for the lows too I promise

Congratulations on a month Lindsay!! That’s some great progress. Life only gets better.
A back injury got me started too. Those pain pills are no joke. When I finally got the surgery I needed, I was too addicted to come off on my own and finally went to detox. I’ve come too far and I’m determined to never go back to that life.

I live in southeast in the capital of Alaska! Juneau is so beautiful and there is so much to do all year round. Things I’ve really been missing out on and plan to take full advantage of this winter :)))

Right on. It is beautiful there. My older brother and his family live there. I lived in Anchorage for 30 years.

Welcome,
Hope your day was well, I am also from Alaska. I live in Kenai, raised here and enjoy my community. Where do you live, also how long have you lived here? I don’t ever plan on leaving, actually now that I’m sober my goal is to be in my own house in 5 years. I need to clean the wreckage of past before I can get into a place but now that I’m sober I am able to do it and alot of other things, life sure is great. I just went down to the Kasilof Beach this evening and it was so beautiful. Been doing alot of driving since I have been sober and I like it. Well anyways, glad to see another fellow Alaskan here.
