Brewed cacao

Always looking for a new non-alcoholic drink that’s comforting and, in this case, good for you! I just brewed my first cup of cacao - the same stuff in cocoa only without the fat and sugar - and am pleasantly surprised. I used a French press - you can’t use coffee filters.
I can only drink so much coffee during the day and this has a nice, mellow, DELICIOUS feeling to it. Of course, I added half and half (so much for the no fat and sugar) but you don’t have to. I think I’ll up the amount and add cinnamon next time. I don’t work for the company or anything :upside_down_face: Here’s a link. You can find it on amazon: https://criobru.com/

Ooo that sounds interesting! Thanks for sharing! I tried golden milk for the first time last night and it was lovely. Not a coffee alternative, per se, but good for you and it was warm and rich tasting. I made the turmeric paste to store in the fridge and used unsweetened almond milk and a tsp of coconut oil per the recipe. It’s going to be a part of my nightly wind down! Fingers crossed it helps with my arthritis, too.

That’s a good idea. Have been thinking of making this. There’s an Indian grocery store in Burlington where you can buy fresh and ground turmeric for cheap.
