Broke my sobriety

Thank you cuz today I could go for a drink really bad but your right. I know what will happen and how I will feel in the morning which I dont want to feel. So today I choose not to have a drink. Thank you for the encouragement.

Thanks emc2018, great encouraging words. It’s hard to stay sober but I must stay focused. We have each other to lean on and encourage and I’m thankful for all your support.

yep… restarted a lot of times… my guess is that is normal. I cant really count the times I’ve tried… must be several dozens. like everyone has said… just have to try again when you want to stop… snd see if you can hold on for longer each time

So I noticed that you posted this and then have not responded or really checked back in since. I will say this, it gets easier when we want it to. Your pattern seems to be come here at a low point and then not interact again. Doesn’t really seem like you are all that dedicated to getting sober, so of course it’s going to be hard. I dunno, prove me wrong.

Hi, thank you. I read these in my weakest moment, i have so much appreciation for you all,
but I have not been sober one day since. So I never know what to reply. I just appreciate you all.
Honestly I am about to post something super personal. But did not want any of you lovely people to read my next post and think I didn’t even care… Because I do. You guys are keeping me sane. X

Hi @KayBees

Perhaps go back through and read through this thread, and many others on this forum, reading and posting helps a lot. The more time you dedicate to your recovery the more successful you can become. Gotta decide, what is your priority in life at the moment? If it’s sobriety, give it your all because you are worthy! You deserve peace and joy and the beautiful sober feeling. Take it one day at a time. Give yourself some loving-kindness and compassion sweetheart. You are desering of this. Pls be kind to yourself X
Self love and compassion will help you on this journey

It never really gets easier. We just become more equipped to deal with our cravings the more time we spend being sober. I’ve restarted dozens of times because I thought I could or should drink again. So you’re not alone. I just threw away almost 400 days because my brain tricked me

I think about it all the time and yes sometimes irs hard. I always think I can have just one but I never do. I will just keep trying because life is better without it and so is sleep. I’ll keep moving forward. I have a grandson that I’m helping with and that keeps me busy and focused.

I vote to add covid19 and burning down our cities to this list.
