I’ve always thought it should have a nice flaky croissant like crust…either over or under…or even better, both… yum!

You Goat, very well know that it is not a cake. It is an appetizer or a light meal or sandwich material. Put a slice of it between two toasted slices of sourdough. Eat with crackers. Just shaped like cake, layered with cream cheese. I am sure there are many versions. It is a conspiracy, misleading. Enjoy it anyway, it is just a name.
