Get them a PC. Most games on console are also out in PC and so many of them have cross play.

Xbox series x. Not likely to be widely available until April. Limited games out right now for it. An x box one will serve them well for the next few years. The series x is just for gamer snobs right now. Or if you see a series x, buy it and sell it for double then buy an Xbox one with the profit!

Don’t think anyone is in this house will become that much involved in the gaming world, as I said no one’s complained that they have missed out on anything anyway.

I know that when I used to play video games I used Xbox because of the game Halo. Halo is exclusive to Xbox.
As far as Xbox 1 vrs. Xbox X… I have no idea as I have never played the X. But I would think that the 1 is going to be dead technology like next week bro.

My son just bought a new x box ,my other son and i use PS4 he said hed be getting a PS5 later on this old guy will stick with his PS4 I only Play FIFA 21
Not gonna lie, i used to harp on my step son about games. But i got sucked into fortnite on xbox. It’s great to get me distracted through a bad time. But you can also get sucked in for too long 
we still have the xbox one & still seems relevant - but might as well get the new one! I’ve liked skyrim & assasins creed also

This thread kinda gave me a headache. I was considering getting my kids a console for Christmas. There has never been a gaming console in this house. I did buy a sit-down classic arcade game though, because that’s classy. 
I know they miss console game playing. They used to have one at their Dad’s but they haven’t been spending time with him for over two years. So, I will either flip a coin, ask them, or get them nothing.

I have my xbox One for my new games and for playing with others but really I can still do 75 % of things on my original brick.
You can definitely get what you need from an Xbox one but honestly at that age you should ask because their friends may only play playstation or Nintendo switch. I guess that’s the thing now🤷🏽♀️
