Welcome to the community @Savpaigepippert .
Glad you have found us here. When I found this app almost 6 months ago I was 3 days sober and a mess. I can honestly say I don’t think I’d still be sober right now if it wasn’t for this community with its advice and continued support. Read around and get involved. Reach out at times if you find yourself struggling but most importantly keep an open mind to the advice given. There is A LOT of long time sober people here who can help point you in the right direction if you are willing to do listen and try. I hope you are able
To find the same kind of support and sense of community that I have here.
That’s where I’m at right now…. Bored of myself. My personality has been depleted and my energy levels became nonexistent. I felt like a shell of a person.
Two days sober now and I already feel so much more myself.
Hi savannah
Great to see you here and hitting your issue head on I can totally relate been drinking from 14 I’m 32 now married 5 beautiful kids and beautiful wife I’m blessed and like you as you said about your husband and he supports you in this issue it’s brilliant as I without my wife I coukd not if got sober I’m 78 days today
1 day at a time my issue was like u but work was busy busy so my stress release was then few pints to cope then before I knew it I was going for drink every day then and I couldnt control it so it was at breaking point ![]()
I went to rehand for 30 days and it broke my cycle of noise-work-staff-high gains of money - high losses of money which are all my trigger for my drinking as we say we reward our selves ![]()
Prior to this I done 1 year of AA in Dubai and just couldnt crack it or any longer than 25 says as the work and pressure was always there after the 1 hour meeting so the rehab cracked it for me but it was the tools I learnt it there that keeps me sober to this day and it’s just down to mindfullness self talk positive self talk meditation, gratitude for wat we have in our lives when that stinking thinking comes into our brains daily or the taught of the bottle
remember we’re it’s going to lead to the DARKNESS and wat it leads to 3 steps forward and 5 steps back
.
But as is great program to get into via zoom or physical meetings you meet like-minded people from all walks of life and you be amazed how you will connect with them and they be REAL friends for life and they have your proper intererests in your favour as our other normal friends will and will never understand wat we going through.
Anyway wish you all the best reach out anytime
And also the gym exercise is brilliant for keeping the mind busy and away from alcohol.
And HALT
hungry-angry-lonely-tired
These r all triggers so remember these ![]()
