My official date is Monday of next week the 30th but I’m involved in 4 different AA groups they all celebrate birthdays on the last week of the month! So this upcoming week I’m celebrating my 1 year birthday! I’m very excited and proud of myself. I never thought I would make it this far it has been the best decision and battle I’ve made! In each meeting you share about your milestone and experiences. I’m a little nervous on what to say. I don’t share much I’m a little quit and advice?

Meetings I go to are usually ticket meetings and I never know what I’m gonna say. So I usually line of something that’s self deprecating and humorous and then just let it flow.
Talk about what it was like, and what it’s like now. Expand upon how life has been enhanced by your program and your HP.
You can’t really say anything wrong in my eyes, unless you’re raising your hand for yet another shiny 24 hour chip.

Typically on shares for milestones, you’re supposed to share your experience, strength, and hope as well as what worked for you in recovery. It’s always good to share a little bit of how it was before sobriety, but focusing mainly on what your life is like now.
No matter what, there’s no such thing as a bad share so long as you share from the heart.

Congratulations on your 1 year! I’m glad you have many people in your life to help you celebrate!!
When I hear about people who have made it a year, I wonder about:
- what was happening then in your life,
- what’s happening now,
- what was difficult and/or triggering,
- what work did you learn you needed to do that your DOC was covering up,
- how you’re progressing on healing that work,
- what’s still challenging and;
- how you feel physically vs before.
