What changes have you noticed since becoming sober, good or not so good?
got to be good or im doing something wrong
Welcome Nicole. I’ve noticed lots but I will simply say my calmness returned. Being abe to maintain a relaxed state even when life is crappy is really good! Oh, here’s a bad .. can’t stand being around loud active drunks!
I’ve also noticed lots of changes, but my favorite is becoming more resilient now that I’m not drowning everything out
I have more time for others
My obsession for alcohol is slowly disappearing. I was told to pray for it to happen and it’s working. Who knew
I love having a clear mind all the time.
Being able to get in my car and go anywhere, anytime without worry.
No more checking my liquor inventory to make sure I have enough to last me thorough the day.
Started a new job the day after I was released from the hospital after a more than a quarter million dollar stay.
Understanding and dealing with anxiety.
Feeling and apparently looking better physically.
That’s just a start.
I am able to do good work and be helpful and caring and loving and of service to other people.
Powers greater than myself have transformed my life and I don’t have the words to explain how I have been changed but I went from someone who was using my parents for the money to use and not helping them or anyone else not able to hold a job or stay out of jail I WAS a disaster.
Then I found the 12 steps and today I am looking at celebrating 7 years off of alcohol marijuana and narcotics.
It’s a miracle and I love the life I’ve been given. My dad saw me get clean before he went to be with the Lord! I was able to help take care of him in his last years. I have very little material wealth and I am happier than I have ever been before and it keeps getting better and better.
We do recover and our lives don’t suck!
Doing better at not sucking at life.
