I have just left the office after finishing my first week at my new job, I’ve been leaving home at 06:00 and not getting back until almost 21:00 which means I haven’t made any meetings, I’m feeling a bit skittish but not for a drink, just unsettled.
I remembered back to 2001 when after finishing my first week at a new job I went for a pint after work with my new colleagues…I was out for 16 hours not getting home to my partner and two small children until 9am the next morning. I’m ashamed to say I had spent what little money we had on booze and I had slept with another woman…I think back and wonder whatever made me think that was ever acceptable.
I am so glad I don’t have to live that way anymore I really am.
