Checking in daily to help maintain focus #7

It does sneak up on us, I reset numerous times and a few times it wasn’t even on my radar…just a compulsion that I couldn’t get to the store fast enough.

Thank you @crystalclear @Jen2020 @anon79808082

I am going to try re-wiring my brain to drink coffee when that first drink ping comes around. It normally is something I can recognize & conquer, but yesterday it hit all 777s. I have to analyze what exactly the combination is that caused it.

This is key I think. Figure out what the final trigger was and make note to avoid that next time. You can learn from this experience and improve your future!!

Check-in on day 35

Feeling a bit all over the place today, my hubby is going away next week for 6 days and nights and already the cheeky monkey in my head is telling me I can just have the 1 without anyone knowing… hahahaha. She is cheeky because she’s trying to fool me. Need to stay strong and focused. It’s Emma against Cheeky monkey

:monkey: - I will win

My cheeky monkey tricked me yesterday. I am trying to figure out how I let that happen.
You are smart to prepare for this. Be on high alert and don’t let your guard down.

You will know. And it’s not worth it! Tell that cheeky monkey :speak_no_evil: to F-off!

Oh man… Honestly they poke, poke, poke till they see a little crack and bam they are in and got you again. Got to seal those cracks by holding hands and reaching out to all our recovery buddies, no gap to let the little bugger slip through. Together we can do this :+1::grin:

I’ve got loads to say. Firstly I don’t know who’s phone you’ve stolen bc where have all those sober days come from all of a sudden. OMG, that’s effing brilliant, keep your chin mate, you’ve always been there to help me and it works both ways, we’ve got so many little hidey holes If you wanna chat about stuff just ask. What WhatsApp gif war shall we have tonight, pick your subject :joy: :joy: :joy:. I might have to bring in the big boys and use some You Tube clips. Be prepared.

It seemed like everyone was sick for awhile there! I’m knocking on wood…

I’m on day 80 alcohol and day 40 weed and tobacco… For all you new people who think, oh he’s OK now he’s done all those days, trust me there are not many days that I don’t want either a drink or a smoke or both. I would love to get stoned right now, chill out after work have a cold one but these are habits from years and years of the same old routine. 36 years to be exact so 30 or 40 days may not quite have it out of the system. Be strong guys and gals, if its hurting you it’s hurting you for a reason. The right reason.

Such a great quote and so true for me right now. So simple to say, but so freaking hard to do sometimes. Thank you for posting that!

I’m cheering for you. I’d be worried about myself if my husband left for 6 days too. We’ll be here if you need us.
