Checking in daily to help maintain focus #7

Glad you’re back and have a plan for the withdrawal symptoms. Do you have a plan to stay sober? Trying any meetings or a program? That seems to help a lot of people. Alcohol is my DOC so I don’t have much to offer in the way of advice. Just take it one day at a time. Reach out here when you need to.

Thanks. I don’t exactly have a plan to STAY sober except that everyone ran out of pills for me to buy. I know not a solid plan. I have been thinking about meetings the thing is my family doesn’t know. my husband knows but thinks I’m sober for a few months now. I just have come to the conclusion i can’t go on like this.

Day 16.
Woke up late today for some reason. Throws my whole morning out of whack. Hopefully my body got what it needed. Any-who, in a rush as usual during the work week.

If we fail to plan we plan to fail. I know it’s super hard when you haven’t been honest or open with people in your life who are impacted but bringing the addiction out of the dark diminishes its power. You can’t do this alone. At least most people can’t. Not having a supply for the moment is great but really think about what you can do once temptation and opportunity presents themselves because they will. Maybe come clean to your husband and let him know you need his support? I don’t know what your journey is going to look like and don’t want to tell you what to do. But I can definitely tell you that just hoping for the best rarely works. Read a lot on here and maybe you’ll get some ideas of what works for others who have the same battle as you. I wish you all the best. Reach out here or DM me if you need to. Just decide for today you won’t use and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. All the best.:heart:

Wow. Your response was so honest and helpful. You’re right about hiding it gives it power, I’m just terrified for people to know I’m an addict. I’ve always been the happy go lucky person that’s there for everyone, I don’t want people to see me any different.
