Completed 40 miles on the bike, now on to the electrical work I have been putting off. If I don’t check-in you will know what happened to me :grinning::skull:

:flushed: I’ve read your answer to me houres ago and still was thinking: but within 10 days hitting one year is just a short period isn’t it.
Now at the end of my day a :bulb: clicked in! Ohhhhh, a year is 365 days instead of 265 days! Were was my head today! Sorry! Almost forgot to check in too! Strange day :hugs:

Well done, @KevinesKay! :raised_hands: Just wanted to say again, I’m so grateful you’ve shared of yourself with us here this past half year (edit: and then some!). You’re one inspiring dude. :v:

421 days. Rocked out at a party of sober people yesterday. Honestly I felt super awkward at first, only knowing a couple people going in. I was not in control and had every instinct to back away.

That recovery voice kicked in with the cliche thought, “Dude. Relax, get over yourself, and have some fun.”

So I did! Getting out of my comfort zone I ended up having an awesome time, meeting a bunch of amazing people I look forward to seeing again.

After day 7 and 8 I didn’t think I would get this far but strangely the last couple of days I haven’t really thought about alcohol, then 30 mins ago I turned into a blood hound I could smell she was having a quick shandy. No good night kiss for her tonight, can’t risk it. She’s lucky I don’t suck the alcohol out of her neck while she’s sleeping. lol

I love this idea! Gratitude is one of the most powerful but (in my life, at least) underutilized tools in the recovery toolbox. I’m only on day 20, but in 80 days I’m going to steal your idea!

Day 469

Laid up in bed all day ‘cause I hurt my back again. Not sure how. Just slowly got worse over the last 2 days. Can’t sit or stand for very long. Have to skip going to the soccer match tonight with my Dad. I hate missing games, especially now that we’re getting to the real important ones. Will probably have to miss the big annual bbq at my GF’s parents’ place tomorrow too. I was really looking forward to that.

Getting really frustrated with my back…but, being frustrated and angry and sad won’t fix it. This morning I allowed myself to feel those feelings and then move on. Trying to teach myself to not get hung up on stuff. So I’m in bed and trying to not get too down about it. I have Dr. Chief and Dr. Pearl looking after me. TENS, stretch, ice, repeat.

Also, 2 posts in 4 days…so I guess that means I’m phasing myself back into the fold

Day 55. (around 7 months without pot)

Rainy day. Did some yard work before the weather turned sloppy. Then took the family to lunch.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to relax a bit from the house projects. But still getting prepped and cleaning for when the right time comes.

Staying up with my strength training but I can’t lay off the donuts lately. It’s been the guilty pleasure I’m allowing myself. But I do have to set a date to get serious if I ever want to reach my goals on that front.

Hit up a couple of telemeetings in the last week and even moderated one of them because there were only 4 on the call. Had some great fellowship and encouragement afterwards. But I have been slacking on my journaling and there isn’t an excuse for that.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!:v::green_heart:

Day 21. Fuck today.

Hoping for some some fast healing, Tristan. I know how I get when I’m forced to ease up. Are you sure it isn’t a disc/nerve issue?

Thanks Mitch. Missed ya, bud.

Facet joint arthritis is what I was told by the neurosurgeon last year. A few bulging discs, but according to he and a few others who looked at the MRI, they’re incidental. He didn’t seem very sure of himself though, and this guy was pretty much retired from practicing (only working a few hours a week).

I plan on seeking some new doctors though. The unfortunate thing is all available appointments are 2+ months from now. However it’ll be worth the wait if I can finally just get some answers and some help.

Have you ever tried accupuncture? I was just talking to a good friend of mine who swears by it. I am considering it also. See how it goes.

I had acupuncture for my tendonitis years ago, it was miraculous. It can take some time, I went for about 7 or 8 treatments before my breakthrough. Completely cleared the pain after years of suffering with it.

Hey,
It’s one thing I plan on trying. My cousin said it was great for his elbow. Insurance doesnt pay for it, so financials are my only hesitation on that one. I’ll have to look around.

Ok, electrical work went well. Surprised that it only took only one trip to the hardware store  Now going to an outdoor foodie event. Not sure what food, but I am sure it will be good. There is also a band playing that I heard is really good. Should be beautiful weather and fun!!
Stay sober everyone!!
