Checking in daily to maintain focus #19

Hi everyone, I’m just getting ready to head to bed. Things are OK here, cool weather, very autumn-ish already. I finished putting up some blinds in my apartment today, so that was the extent of the excitement ! Other than work and studying Japanese, of course.
Kind of a blah day, really… That being said, I really didn’t give any thought to going to the store (which is only about 100 metres away) and buying any alcohol. I was at the store earlier in the day, but just bought milk and some soft drinks… I must say that it seems - however early it may be for me to be saying this - that walking BY the alcohol without stopping to pick any up is perhaps a bit easier now.
Anyway, I’m feeling pretty tired, so I just wanted to say goodnight to everyone… I hope that your weekend is going well, and that you’re all staying healthy and sober.

Beahahahaaaa. I’ll tell you this, I don’t know that I’ve actually witnessed this level of zero self awareness before. Thank God I’m sober and doing well right now.

Day 21 up at 6.30am on a Sunday morning listening to the birds chirping, no hangover, feeling great. About to go for a 5km walk to help raise funds for The Black Dog Mental Health organisation.
Peace, love and strength to all :pray:

Checking in part 2. My mother is so hurtful with me. I knew, it will come, because I know her, and I know, that she doesn’t want to understand me. I try to keep distance, but still.

Oh the benefits of being 3 weeks sober. Feels great don’t it?? I never get tired of crawling out of bed WITHOUT a hangover. I got very hangover prone in old age :face_with_head_bandage:
Keep up the great work.

Day 5.5 and counting. Sleep is better and I accomplished a lot of work/school related things. Tomorrow will be the hardest day as I usually “reward” myself for making it through the week. I’m trying to keep busy and plan on working out to wear out my mind and body.

I know exactly how you feel about “reward.” The first few times I didn’t reward myself for a job well done, or hard work finished, or the eight hour drive, was actually pretty satisfying. It was and is nice to reward myself with a hangover free morning and a clear head and the ability to be flexible when things aren’t going my way. Now those are rewards!!!
Great job on the 5.5 days and getting through the weekend. You got this.

Oh man y’all I’m so glad I checked in here this morning. It really got me in the right frame of mind. When I got back to the warehouse after work a coworker was there and he and another guy were drinking beers and he asked if I wanted one out of the blue. Even though I was just passing through. I waffled for a second honestly, but I said no pretty quick. I definitely think that’s partially because of y’all keeping me in the right headspace. So thanks for being here.

Checking in on Day 445. Still lifting, trying to eat clean, all that good stuff.

Newest addition to the home gym, a Stamina ATS 1399 air rower. I almost feel bad for how cheap I got it for:

Have a strong day!!!

Day 14. It rained sideways and the wind howled for about twelve hours overnight, so I didn’t get much sleep. When we went outside, a bunch of the fence had collapsed around the building. My neighbors and I swept up the parking lot so no one would get a flat tire. Then I did laundry, and got the grocery shopping done for the week. Took my dog for a long walk this afternoon, and now we’re curled up on the sofa, and I’m working on a knitting project.

I feel so much better than I did 14 days ago. My emotions feel much more under control, and I’ve lost about seven pounds. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me, but sobriety makes things a lot easier to deal with.

@Dragonflygirl82 I’m so sorry to hear about your Moose. He looks and sounds like he was a very good boy.
