@CATMANCAM does your SAD lamp work??
I use it in the mornings and at night and I feel better when itās on. Iād say it helps and was definitely worth the investment. I bought it in 2012 for Ā£80 and have not yet had to replace any bulbs.
- Ms. Monkey and I both took a vacation day today. We decided it was time we took some time off that didnt revolve around a medical appointment. Itās been an interesting day.
Showed up early at her place for breakfast. Her 18 yr old son was outside waiting for me. He gave me the ātalkā. Wanted to know my intentions for his mother, ect. I was polite and respectful and put his mind at ease
She surprised me with a pedicure. First one ever. I could care less about it, but her smile was as wide as could be when I told her I would go with her.
Active drinker Thirdmonkey would have handled things different. The selfish alcoholic would have laughed away her sonās concerns and question. The selfish alcoholic would have been very bitchy about a pedicure. Sobriety is far more than just ānot drinkingā
First Checking in 15 days sober
How does this make me feel any better. Only
Thing I want is my husband back
He is the reason I do not drink today
Checking in on day 69. Today was an odd one. Iām one of 13.000 people that have been evacuated here in Cologne due to a bomb from the 2nd world war they found at a constructiom site. Itās not unusual around here, as the city was completely destroyed.
I was on my way home with a huge backpack full of groceries and wasnāt let back in my appartement. Felt a little apocalyptic with everyone wearing masks and carrying suitcases Iām now staying at a friends place. They plan to ādetonateā it tonight whatever that means and everybody should be able to go home soon. My friend joked that zombies will be next š¤·:zombie:
What a good son she has! Glad youāre having fun!
Welcome, Holly! Sounds like youāre on the right path. Just keep doing the right thing. Itās worth it!
Hey Holly, welcome to the forum! Thatās a great reason to stay sober, Iām glad youāre here.
Reading lots of threads with tips and stories of people in the same situation always makes me feel better. The community here is very helpful and welcoming if you need to talk
Day 37 and Iām proud to report I made it through another pain episode without drinking.
Welcome,
Work on you and show through your actions you mean it.
I agree. Delete all social media apps. And yes messenger is still social media. Delete it all. You really do not need it. Regular phone and txt is sufficient enough for emergenciesā¦ A good long detox from social, I donāt mean a few days or weeks or months off, I mean years off it, can do wonders for youā¦give it a go. Your future self will thank you
Almost at one year
Awww, this is so sweet!! A fine young redneck
So what colour are your toenails now??
Had to get a COVID test done on the whole family today. That would have to be my āNayā of the day. Kids didnāt love itā¦better to get the test then not though, my fiance has been symptomatic and had negative flu test.
Goodnight everyone.
Hahahaā¦no polish on themā¦all the other crap was done.
Checking in, day 43. I just finished a huge task of mine, so the day was really productive. Didnāt really do anything besides that and some kid-time.
In the afternoon have talked to my parents via skype. They were on one side, me and the kids on the other side, so it was just a bit of a chit-chat nothing deep. But it was the first time in weeks that my father was willing to take part in a call. Probably we will continue these calls avoiding to notice the big elephant in the room. But at least they could look at me.
Man thatās rough that everyone had to get the test, hopefully everyone is negative and she starts feeling better soon!
Thanks, man, I needed to hear this! Youāre totally right.
