My mum passed on Xmas eve as well. So every year its a double wammy, Christmas day stress plus remembering mum. Way to go mum for picking the most popular holiday of the year to leave this earth ā¦ Mum was a huge alcoholic. Never seen her with out a drink. From the moment she woke up in the morning after her coffee she would have her wineā¦ So I think she is probaly happy up in the after life watching over all of my extended family on xmas seeing that everyone is getting pissed on her passing anniversary lol. That would make her happy knowing she picked a day of celebration to leave this universe lol.
I want to thank yāall for being so kind and supportive when I came to rant and release earlier. Iāve got ādoggy health woes fatigue,ā and I am grateful to this community for listening (or scrolling on by if you have the fatigue, too). Truthfully, the desire to get obliterated does come to mind at times, but Iām comforted in the fact that there is no way in hell I am going to do that right now. I alternate between envisioning how I will handle when he passes to pushing those thoughts away and am really relying on my day at a time mentality, even moment at a time, more than ever.
@CapriciousCapricorn @anon79808082 @TSan @Dazercat @Misokatsu @CATMANCAM @siand and others, I appreciate your comments. Thank you.
I caught this just now and it does make me feel proud in this moment.
Thank you, Marc! Itās pretty wild.
Thank you so much. Itās inspiring to see you working your recovery, checking in every day.
Isnt it the best feeling ! Its very addictive the feeling ! Nothing compares to itā¦ When I loose momentum from working out I tend to forget that good feeling, then when I get back I into it Iām always like "ahhhhh why did stop doing this daily I love how this makes me feel after the work out!! "
congrats girl!!!
800 days af today. Feels good. Grateful for AA, stepwork, sober fellows around the world and my higher power
I was thinking about this today. And Iāve come to the conclusion that Harder is better for us. It strengthens us and keeps us on our toes and the contrast makes us constantly grow as sober humansā¦ If it wasnāt hard, and just smooth sailing , our growth and self improvement would plateau I think. We would not be challenged. Which may lead to boredom. Which may lead to having a drinkā¦ So I say 2021, bring on the hard , challenging, difficult times! It will be a test like no other and we will all pass with flying colors because we are amazing !!!
- Coffee and SAD lamp. Work in a mo. Iām OK. Grateful for you all, sharing your lives, struggles, victories, hardships. The title of this thread is exactly what it enthrals. Exactly what is good for me as a day starter. Weāre in it together. Sober and clean. Have a great day you. Love from Amsterdam where I got to see the sun set yesterday. Grateful for that too. Just 5 days to the solstice yay!
@RosaCanDo Big congrats on triple digits lady. Big hugs for you and Chucho.
That is so cool.
Great job.
Iāve noticed a reoccurring theme with this situation happening with youā¦ I know its sometimes not ideal, it depends on if your open to the possibilities of it working, but have you given meds a proper go ? Even just small dose of mood stabilizers can do the world of good and help with this issueā¦ I know your in a small town and things are limited, but do you have a good doctor you can see regularly for assistance? If not , perhaps you can get some recommendations of local doctors from someone at AA meetingsā¦ I really think it will help
Thanks Eric, gotta run, looking for my clogs right now.
Thanks Menno @Mno and thank you for the beautiful pictures. I really enjoy them. Have a great sober day and stay safe
CONGRATULATIONS!
Take a bow, champion!
