That’s my favorite Christmas movie

Such a classic. Perfect casting the whole lot.
I have to have 2 faves though. Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story. I hope no one ever makes me pick one over the other.
Glad you’re here.

I adore the Norad Santa tracker. We use it every year

I love that one also. My favorite on Christmas Story is when he gets his tongue stuck on the flag pole. Hilarious

That one small moment makes me laugh every time. I use “nadafinger!” as a cry of exasperation sometimes :joy:

@Clarity Have an amazing time in Hawaii! :sun_with_face: I’ve always wanted to go there, I was told I went there when I was 18 months old but all I remember is falling down a whole flight of stairs and exactly what the carpet looked like, no one believes me  My brother was conceived there apparently too!

Merry Christmas to those celebrating :christmas_tree::gift:

I’m at home after a lovely afternoon with my dad and step-family. We opened gifts together, then I helped to prepare dinner, which turned out well. Bit of cleaning up and then I drove home before it got dark as I have vision issues with lights when it’s dark. I was somewhat tested and had to stand my ground, I was asked to get the champagne from the fridge for the table, that wasn’t a problem but it did feel odd having it in my hands, then when it was popped I was offered a glass, I declined, I was then asked if I just wanted a little mouthful, to which I also declined. My family aren’t aware that I’m an addict, but they do know I’m sober and that I have liver disease, I guess people who drink are so accustomed to it being a part of special occasions that they see it as though we’re missing out. I didn’t even notice anyone drinking, I was too busy enjoying the meal, which was such a treat after being on a diet. I declined dessert and didn’t come home with any leftovers so I’m ready to get straight back on my diet now.

A successful sober Christmas, the polar opposite of the black hole I was in this time last year. I’m so grateful. Thank you to everyone here, and I wish you all health, joy, and sobriety.

Day 109: Hello  on this first sober Christmas. I was gifted a migraine so it’s a slow day, and completely ok. Going back to closing my eyes though. :heartpulse:

Checking in, day 50. Today was fine, although my son’s tantrums challenge our patience big time. But not having any deadlines for work is really great. As a freelancer I usually work during the weekends and give myself less than two rest days a week. Also work and free time aren’t really separated, so I feel that I always have some backlogs in either fields. Now it feels so liberating to have a break.
I’m approaching the day I relapsed last time. I have some mild cravings, but it’s not too bad, I don’t think my sobriety would be in danger at the moment.

That’s a gorgeous new bike. I ordered a new one in October and was told it wouldn’t get here until next March. Couple days ago they called and said its moved back to next July :frowning: damn covid!! Glad you were able to get one!!

Merry Christmas everyone! 4 hrs away from 27 days and feeling great! Went on a nice, yet chilly, trail ride this afternoon. Was only 19 degrees but so worth it. Bc of the cold and it being Christmas noone else was on the trails. Celebrated with my family yesterday and today and no desire to drink. Relaxing and watching Christmas movies the rest of the night. I’m so thankful for finding this app and all of you! I hope everyone is having a safe and sober Christmas!

6 weeks AF. Merry Christmas, everyone! It has been a rough week. Terrible insomnia. So frustrating. The exhaustion brings on thoughts of how a drink (or 6) could really help. Which of course would be worse, so I remain AF. Plus, holiday Zoom gatherings absolutely suck. I have NO idea how kids could do school that way every day. Missing hugging my family something awful! Ugh! Onto the next holiday I guess!
Take care, all!

Today I was tempted to drink at christmas with family… I let myself drink as many diet cokes as I wanted instead to try to deal and it was successful. Social pressure is really tough for me and I’m so happy to be going to bed sober (hopefully I can sleep given all the caffeine!)
