Today is a new day and you’ve got this @Wakikki.
Checking in on Day 30! I am not taking for granted what it took to get here and what it will take to get each day to come. I intend to be sober today and enjoy living again.
1015 days alcohol free
@DLS Praying for you, your travels and your son.
@Sanuk Congratulations on 2 weeks.
@Irisees919 Congratulations on 1 month.
336 days. Accepting that every day isn’t a good day but I’m determined to get through each day sober no matter what the day brings. I’ve been a lil short fused the past few days and it’s time to reel that in. I received an acceptance letter from the local university yesterday so now I’m prepared to register for courses for work. It’s been almost 20 years since I’ve been in any school type setting and I’m not sure how I feel about returning. The financial incentive to complete the courses is huge and almost doubles my wage upon completion. The dryness of legalise isn’t appealing but I’m confident I can get through it. I’ve said before that sobriety is like a fresh start but who knew I would find myself as a student.
Congratulations @Squirt on your acceptance letter for school!! What an exciting new chapter!
Feel better, lady!
Checking in for my 6th day of sobriety. Feeling good after a wobbly morning. Feeling waves of happiness from Feeling and being.
Watched Rocketman today- a great film about sobriety (and obviously Elton John)! Really addresses some great topics about the sources of pain for addicts and also how to address them. I’d recommend it!
Congratulations! What program are you enrolling in?
I’ll miss your face and your presence around here. But I totally get it. Stay amazing lady!
Praying and hope you have a safe flight. Let us know once you arrive.
Glad you are back.
Checking in substance free for…
For those of you who need a lift… this song fills my soul with hope, maybe it will yours too.
Congrats everyone on your days.
Oh man! Such a great song! Gonna play it again…
Day 297.46
Today is a beautiful day! Life is a little up in the air. I wasnt able to sign up for summer classes because it feels like so many unknowns are happening. We dont really know where we are going to move to, it could be anywhere! Going to trust in my higher power that we will find the perfect place. I just want to feel grounded so I can put in some roots and start going in one direction. Trying to convince my daughters dad to move closer to SC where my mom lives. His parents are moving to NC 2 hours from my mom and selling their house. Just makes sense!
@GVLNative Congrats on 1 year, sooo proud of you and so happy to see you!
@DLS prayers for safe travels and your Son
@apes2020 sorry to read about your injury, I hope the ice and some rest helps
@RedDahlia congrats on your week
@I.cant.We.can congrats on 16 months
@Fury sorry for the loss of someone who was good to you, sending strength
@Sanuk congrats on 2 weeks
@Irisees919 congrats on 30 days
281 days no alcohol.
249 days no cocaine.
Had another night of anxiety dreams, these ones I can assume we’re triggered by the phone call from my dad that left me feeling rejected and worthless the other day. I wish it didn’t hurt so bad, it’s hard to shake off. As a Cancerian you’d think I’d have a tough exterior, and I guess in the sense of never letting people know they’ve hurt me, then I do, but on the inside I’m extremely sensitive and things hurt very deeply.
I’m tempted to take myself to the cinema again tonight, the only showings for the Sound of Metal are at 7pm, which is in less than an hour where I am, but I usually go to sleep anytime from 7:30pm so I’m not sure if I will. I think I’ve heard a few of you say it’s worth seeing though so I do think I’ll go one evening this week.
Had a Zoom meeting with the Lead Gender Clinician to do a report for my Gender Recognition Certificate, which I need in order to get a Birth Certificate in my current name and gender, for if I ever get married and when I die, for the records to be correct. It’s an arduous process but it feels good to have made a start with it.
I made it to Boston!
Hi Everyone! 30 days away from alcohol!
