Omg yes. So I’ve seen good and bad. I lost weight cause the first few days I had no appetite. Then I started eating. Junk food lol. 1 meal a day is all I can do now but at least I’m not picking up :slightly_smiling_face:

I know eventually I’ll have to switch to healthier habits but honestly I think my body is still adjusting and I’m just letting it take it’s course.

Want to hear something crazy? I’m almost 6 days clean and here’s what’s already been eliminated or alleviated in my body:

Acid reflux
Burning sensation/sharp pains on my arms/legs
No more profusely sweating from taking out the garbage lol

Just shows you how damaging/destructive this shit is on the body.

Hang in there friend :pray:t3:

Life without acid reflux is amazing, isn’t it?! Who knew?
I’m also enjoying life without constant griping guts - which I assumed everyone had, but it turned out only the heavy drinkers had. Joint pain, regular chest pains and an aching liver are all also things of the past. That’s without even getting to the lack of hangovers…
What on earth were we thinking? How did we not realise that ingesting poison on a regular basis was causing us pain? Still, it only took me 30 years to work it out… :man_facepalming:

Yep. I always had my chocolate. Still do. Got to be careful though not too eat too much of it. I believe we are replacing the fermented sugar with another type of sugar. I try and stick to the snack size portions of chocolate treats. And just have 3 of them for about 160 calories or something. Sometimes I have more :grimacing:

Keep taking it one day at a time and you can do this! I’m only on my 29th day but I’m willing to give AA/Sponsorship and community along with working the steps. We are the only ones who can truly relate to what we have been thru or going thru now. Keep it up!

Checking in for tonight no urges to drink and smoke some postal employees on site were smoking I can clearly indentify the aroma to a wine black and mild cigarello sweet smell and my mind wanted to daydream I quickly stopped myself and replaced it with how far I’ve made it and how I don’t want to go back ! Proud of myself day by day !

Hi all, I’ve been gone for about 6 months but returned over the weekend as I’ve been missing you guys and this forum. Great to see so many familiar faces still and have been enjoying reading through and catching up on everyone’s trials, tribulations, success and overall journey

I’m still on the sober path, busy with kids, study and life in general. It’s nice to be back x

Day 327.
A good day. Some house/chores, some desk, some time on the trails. All good, and all of it a little bit slower - I was yawn-y today! But thankfully, not because of a hangover. Don’t miss that at all. I caught a few thoughts of “ah, wouldn’t it be nice when you’re done this [whatever task] to sit outside with a…” Screeeeech! I don’t think they are so much urges or cravings as simply associations with this time of year. But one by one, these mental associations come undone…

You know what? I did sit outside. With some San Pellegrino. Birds chirping. The dog girl collecting sticks. Me smug-smiling as the mental associations keep undoing themselves…
Let’s undo some more things tomorrow, hey friends? I know we can.
G’night all, big love. :orange_heart:

@Julied changes like that can be so hard, but when you know, you know. sending you strength.

@Hopeful777 good luck with the interview! you won’t need it, I’m sure.

I’m checking in. Day 23.

Some things I feel good about is that the past two days I’ve been eating a lot better. For lunch yesterday, I ate some cottage cheese with an apple and a banana. Tonight I ate a chef salad with some raspberry lemonade. Better choices than the normal fast food I’ve been consuming. However, when I came home I ate two marshmallows and a donut. I wish I didn’t consume as many sweets.

I also did a good job with my oral hygiene. I’ve been flossing my teeth twice a day.

I would like to do a workout tomorrow morning since I missed it over the past couple days.

We plan on going to a hotel stay tomorrow night. The girls are looking forward to swimming in the pool. I would like to be intimate with my wife tonight being that tomorrow will be an impossibility. So I’m going to initiate. Since I became more assertive and focusing on my “Nice Guy Syndrome”, our love life has dramatically improved.
