Happy Clean and Sober New Yearās eve everyone! Hope everyone is managing through this time of year okay. Its been a quiet evening here at home. Work was awful. My client AWOLed 15 min before the end of my shift. It was hectic and the situation was just not good. I ended up get āscoldedā over not being arms distance away from her on her smoke break, yet i was shown otherwise by my coworker when she was showing me the ropes while working with her. So it was a rough day. I did up my Incident Report and have been trying to let this go all evening. I came home and was glad to see my family. We had a belated christmas dinner (turkey, veg, potatoes, gravy etc). That was soo nice. Tmrw i have to go back to work. I dont want to go but i cant afford not to go. I will do my best. Hope everyone has a good addiction free night

Had an okay day. Spent most of it cleaning. Had my usual Saturday appointment with Brian. Joe came by with a bowl of chili and was tempted to ask if that beer was still available.
But I refrained. I figure Iām doing pretty well and donāt want to mess it up now. Might take a short nap because Iām feeling strangely depressed for no reason.

Day 7, itās been a decent one so far. Iām exhausted from all the social things Iāve had to do this week and Iām at a new years party right now too. When I get home Iām going to collapse and just be a hermit until school starts for me

There it is: 2023.
I hoop it will be a great year. I hope the war between Russia and the Ukrain comes to an end, I hope we can do something about climat change. I hope we can take take care of the fugitives in a better way then we do right now.
All things I wish for the better but canāt control anyhow.
What I can control is myself.
Me living my life sober.
Being kind for myself (work in progress) and others.
Being more in the ānowā instead of the past ore future.
Good intentions for 2023, I always make a few each year. This year I would l like to walk more en surf less on my phone.

In Dutch we say: Gelukkig Nieuwjaar.
Yesterday our country fired for ā¬110 million euros of firework to celebrate NYE. For now the counter says: 1 person died and many are wounded. The eye doctors in our country are lobbying for years to get this tradition gone.
With ā¬110 million euros there is so much good we could do for example for climate change.
I wish I could stop this tradition, another thing out of control and have to let go.
Within a few houres? Days? This place here is going to get crowded with newcomers. I hope we can give them all a warm welcome and a safe place to become a better version of themselves.
Letās help them where we can!

Ā© Irene Wijnmalen, a lady I didnāt meet since we were in the same class in elementary school but who I found back at FB. She started photography in the last decade. And has become pretty well known for her portraits. Inspirational.
Glad we made it through to today. Iām looking forward to a better year for us all. Iāll be continuing therapy. Building on last yearās choices. Many were good actually. I feel some pride this morning. Which is special for me, and a reason for more pride in itself.
Still a huge amount of work to do but Iām moving, and generally in the right direction. Recovery is a verb. One day, one choice, one positive action at a time. Letās work on loving everybody, beginning with myself/yourself. X

Was a fairly quiet day. Some cooking, cleaned the car.
Set some intentions and reflected on 2022 this morning. Iāve got a new journal Iām going to start using daily.
Iām really looking forward to what this year will bring.
