Day 136. At the hospital, my dad can go home. Once I have him settled there I will drive back to Cornwall (8 hours) the hospital have been fabulous. Shattered but I need to make sure my parents are safely back at home

And congratulations to 54 days sober @JennyH way to go my dear. I like the way you try to change your mindset about the sober holidays. For me I finally realised that I really donāt miss out on anything by not drinking but I gain a whole new world by being sober and present. I love being sober to feel present connected.

Day 101 AF
and I donāt miss drinking at all!!! Iām really happy and glad that I donāt have to drink anymore. Thatās a very freeing thought!
Looking forward to my first sober Holiday trip wich starts next week. I wonāt drink on my holidays and I wonāt miss the alcohol. Will celebrate the arrival in Florida with a huge ice cold glass of lemonade. Canāt wait to have it already!

Hello @Mno I once been in a shop here in Germany which is totally dedicated to lefthanders and their need . They sell everything you need, like pens and scissors and what not. Loved it because my bff is left-handed and even I wasnāt fully aware of all those little difficulties they are facing in their day to day life.
Just realised that they have an online shop too.
I suggest to have a look there in person one day as it is located in Erfurt, a beautiful city in the south east of Germany, on the world famous KrƤmerbrĆ¼cke. Erfurt !!! Always worth a visit

Day 1 restart after 11 months of sobriety. Just 1 drink during a holiday turned into just 1 bottle of wine a night once we returned home. That was a month ago. The sleepless nights, depression and irritability all returned, too.
Iām focusing on one day at a time. Today, Iāll make sure I have all my favorite AF drinks stocked up.

Checking in day 25 sober
Come away for a weeks break with my wife she lost her dad suddenly a week ago and it has rocked her, me and the family. There has been moments ive wanted to drink abd i havent, what helps is a video i have of myself recorded the morning after a heavy binge. Im walking my dogs, running on hot, wrenching and in general a total mess telling myself not to put myself through it again.
Im winning day by day.

Iām sorry about your loss, Alice. Hugs to you and your wife. Iām glad youāre protecting your sobriety, and it is so hard especially when you get slugged by such a sudden loss. Take good care of yourselves. Will be thinking of you.

Checking in day 429! Had a good dinner with friends last night, most of whom are sober. Always refreshing to be around other sober friends, and Iām very lucky to have two of my closest friends sober as well (one recently past the 5 years make, and Iām so proud of them).
Busy day at work today. Have a couple new clients in the morning (which I enjoy), and lots of paperwork all afternoon (which I donāt enjoy). I do have some work for my part time job tonight as well- looking forward to eventually transitioning that off of my plate.

When do you have the surgery Jenny? I had mine may 2022. What has helped me was avoid fatty food like chocolat and pizza. And enzym supplements helped as well. Now I can eat everything again
