@goku2019 HAPPY BIRTHDAY
goku2019 birthday
@Pavlovs_Dog welcome to the community! Congrats to your day 2 :clap: You are absolutely doing it right – I find the daily check in thread is a great way to connect with other members and also keep ourselves accountable. Would you be able to do online recovery or aa meetings? Also possibly look into meet up groups in your area for dog lovers and such – a great way to connect with like minded people in person. This is a wonderful supportive place- grateful to have you here with us. :hugs:
@its_me_stella So very happy that you did not SH today. Sending you a big hug and hoping that whatever you are going through gets easier to manage. Here if you need :people_hugging: :heart:
@rob11 so sorry for the awful dream Rob – grateful that you can let it out here. Hoping you are feeling much better as your day progressed :hugs:
@ofmiceandroach Way to go with your 1 week milestone Emma! Keep this amazing momentum going :muscle:

Hi friends -

17 days free of alcohol
11 days free of THC
:seedling:

Continuing to find healing, courage, and hope through meditation. It is reaching parts of me long neglected that need to be heard and seen so that they can finally rest. Freeing up space mentally, emotionally, physically. What a gift to be sober today.

Wishing everyone spaces and moments that bring peace and joy. You are worth it!

@HolySquid :rofl::rofl::rofl:
@CATMANCAM thanks and hope you feel better soon :people_hugging:
@JazzyS thank you friend!
@JP123 health is the true wealth - love this!

Thanks much for the encouragement that this is the correct forum for a match for my needs as best as an online method could be. Pups are trained to a ridiculous degree, but the push toward socializing is the takeaway that I need. They are actually 5 yrs old. Had good thoughts going to sleep last night having found this means to communicate with someone. Thanks again for the reply and thoughts. Very appreciated and valued and thought provoking. It has been a one month depression and I am sure that stopping the drinking at night and joining with this group is going to help.

Question: I notice that posts go back to Jan 6. So that said, are posts only held for one week? It doesn’t affect me either way, but just curious.

Thanks again for giving me someone to write to. I think it helps while I figure out a new plan of something like taking guitar lessons or something like that.

This tread closes automaticaly when it’s to big. So this is tread number #62. When this one is filled it will closed and then start tread number #63
That explaines the date.

Thanks again. Another question: Is there a difference between replying in the actual post (it looks like grey colored font) or going down to the blue box with the white “reply” word? It seems to do the same thing. I assumed that replying to the thread would be a direct response to the person and the blue box would be general post at the bottom of the list “to all”. Thanks for your help.

Thank you JazzyS! I will consider all of your thoughts. I’m feeling comfortable with this level of investment of my heart, but online aa meetings seems too structured for me. I’m in a fragile place. Thanks for saying you are grateful to have me. People like you will teach me how to become helpful to others like you are, once I get out of my funk. It is kind of overwhelming right now because I have had a really bad run of bad luck with friends of many years turning out to be poor choices for friends, and I had not done any emotional preparation for such a thing in life, and it really threw me for a loop. Both friends I had to abandon were pretty much my only two friends, so it shook me to the core. One was using me and I caught him stealing from me. So with major brain fog I am overwhelmed that this group has normal nice people that are sending me support, when the contacts in my life show such selfishness and lack of comradery. I’m in shock a bit that this support group exists and I have looked many times online for AA group meetings and such, but nothing really seemed like something I was game to commit to. I will now though, make a commitment to this group that I will develop the skills that have been shown to me, and will use this site to help others. I’ll probably need a while to get back to feeling well, which could be an hour or a month, but I commit to become a helper like you some day on this forum. This is good for me. It feels good.

@Nomad620 congrats on your week :tada:

1251 days no alcohol.
716 days no cocaine.
231 days no vape.

Attended the monthly Survivors support group this morning, nearly didn’t because I was struggling to wake up, but I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t, so I’m glad I did.

Not much else to say, the depression is occupying too much of my mind. It will pass. I am patient.

I hope you’re all having wonderful sober weekends. :blush:

Glad you’re posting here. My own experience was long ago and I drank about it for years after instead of healing. I hope you find healing for yourself. I do know that you are a strong effing woman and will continue to be. But we all need a helping hand sometimes. :heartpulse:

@CATMANCAM Thank you, kindly.
@Alycia Thanks. It’s hard eating healthy when you come from a Mexican fam, lol. We eat all the tacos and drink all the cokes. Gonna have to avoid going to the in-law’s.
@JazzyS Thank you. Getting up there in the numbers.

Day 819 AF

Another sober bday. Just chillin with the fam today. Nothing crazy. Sippin on some Liquid Death.

Have a great sober day everyone!

Day 699
Sooo close to 700 whole days clean and sober! Wow this really baffles me!! From a chronic relapser who couldnt stay clean for more than 3 days, to now almost reaching 700 days… makes me beyond grateful!

Today i didnt end up going to work. I stayed home and did a few things around the apartment instead. Went out to grab some fish food and a few other items. Thats really about it. I had an awful day for eating yesterday. But today has been better. Just needed to reevaluate my eating habits the past 2 days and then came back to focusing on my goals. I really need some self care honestly. So will do that when theres some quiet time tonight. Will be going to work tmrw and then have a busy week ahead (exercising, a 2 hour client specific training for work, an appt via zoom for my son, formula pickup, and a custom cake thats due friday, along with my usual weekend shifts at work). So lots going on. I enjoy being productive and having things to do but I have to be careful that I dont exhaust myself. Other than that, not much else going on. Just staying clean and sober and l♡ving life!

A late check-in on day 41
Had a emotional day at my parents, with a smile and a tear, as they are both facing health problems. I stayed longer than I planned, so that’s nice.
Its 2.30 am and I’m really tired, but couldn’t sleep. Glad tomorrow is sunday… Off to bed again!

I wish you all a fab sober day :lotus:
