Day 13 today! Keen to see the two week mark tick over tomorrow.

Today I’m going to work through not letting others emotions or actions affect me unless it’s actually directed towards me negatively. I wont make assumptions or think I know what people are thinking.
I am the only one who can change my mood and I’m not going to let anyone else do it.

Have a great day everyone as we all add another day to our belt!

@jimz How lovely – another first and possibly made someone more curious about sobriety LOL. Way to stack on another 2 hrs. :muscle:
@seizetheday YES! 3 months and shining. Happy that you found us too – love to see you doing so well on your journey.
@charlie_c Great work on 3 weeks Charlie. :tada:
@john_connor1337 Great job on day 6 and fighting those cravings. It does get easier as you stack on days. You may also consider staying away from triggers (at least till you are strong enough not to feel a urge). I know its not easy but for myself I had to stay away from friends and places for a while until I knew that wouldn’t be tempted to even have one drink or smoke. Love music – many threads here to check out… Anthem of the day, different playlists if you do a search for playlists you will find. :music: I tend to like everything – just has to fit the mood of the moment .
@lile01 Sorry you are not well my friend – wish you some relief from your symptoms soon.
@maxwell WOOT WOOT girl – 90 days is amazing work! :muscle: Oh man I’m sorry love – that sucks big time and I’m sorry that she is being that way. Never apologize my friend – glad you were able to vent here and that it helped. I love tending to plants and seeing them flourish -do share your pics with us on the plant thread  OOH – a lovely picture – thank you !

How wonderful to learn how much you can be there for others sober. I am truly finding life to be so much happier with a cleaner mind.

@MeSober we are in the same boat, I’m also approaching 7 days!!! I’m like that as well, work weeks are easy for me to get through because I’m usually busy with work during most of the day, but the weekends fuck me up. Make sure to keep taking care of yourself and checking in here! I find it helps me to just browse this forum when I’m bored and craving the drug

Looking forward to seeing both you and I hit that 90 days!!! Sober train!!! YEAH!!!

Knowing that the weekends are where you feel like you get complacent – buckle down harder as you approach the weekend with all your tools. It is just ODAAT and we all have your back friend.

Thanks @JazzyS for the advice  Yeah I think you’re right, I probably need to stay home at least for the first month for sure. I’ve been finally saving money by simply staying home during my recovery! Save that money, save that money, save that money!!! :money_with_wings: :moneybag: No more pissing away money on the blowcaine just to end up freaking out and quite literally flushing my money in the form of an off-white shiny rock down the toilet!!!

2nd check in Day 86,

I’m unsure if what I’m doing is right or another type of addiction?
After my weight training, I worked outside on my lawn care trailer, loading on zero turn mower and just doing some stuff in garage to prep for a couple walls I need to build and put up in my sea container that I have for storage.
Then of course because I’ve done two hikes over past three days I did another 6k hike today and that pretty much wore me out so in bed by 8pm.

Am I just replacing one addiction for another? And while exercise and eating healthy are not in any way bad, could it be?
I’m hyper focused on hitting my goals I set, perhaps because I am enjoying it or perhaps I am just ensuring I don’t get bored or have too much energy to eye the old whiskey bottle.

I’m unsure as it just hit me earlier, what happens if this push injures me and I am laid up from exercise? At 57 (nearly) and definitely not a gym rat, but always have been capable physically and have had the good fortune to not endure any injuries not due to stupidity (tearing Achilles, blowing out knee entirely), how do I preoccupy myself if that were to happen?

Interesting situation I think, and perhaps one I need to think on carefully as currently I don’t really have a back up plan if this current focus goes south.

Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts I’d love to hear.

Be well all

It can turn into another addiction if things start to revolve around it and you start obsessing about it. I know with me I can turn anything into an addiction. Over the years I have gotten into changing my eating and working out to extremes and focused on that number on the scale. In August I started to get back into cause I had gained weight from quitting drinking and was feeling like crap over all but this time I just do it to feel better and really don’t pay attention to the scale. Just eat sensibly and mix up my workout. I don’t know if this input helps and I’m just rambling on

Wow it’s been forever since I have checked in! Sobriety really has kept me busy for the better! Today marks day 819!! I never thought even day 1 was possible NM all these days throughout. Life isn’t perfect, I would rather feel all the imperfections then not feel anything at all! Stay strong my friends!!

Checking in day 200 SAF and 186 no smokes. So I worked today, and then decided to work the second shift too, just to cover for the holiday. We didnt have any plans this year anyway. I been fighting some kind of cold, that now seems to have settled in my chest and I been sleeping like shit, so I have to be vigilante and make sure I’m doing extra sobriety work when I get in these funks. But I’m good. On the plus side I believe we sold the house 2 days after putting it on the market and our offer was accepted on the one we wanted so as long as the contracts are good when we go over them tomorrow with the realtors I guess we’ll be moving sooner than later. Anyways trying to catch up here. You all are some talkers.. But I love ya’s anyway. Happy Easter :v::green_heart:
