Checking in daily to maintain focus #71

@whereswaldo 248 days is amazing. New home next week and within weeks you will be hosting early Christmas? Man that is a lot going on my friend. You just sold your home and have a new born / toddler at home. I know I would be jumping off of the walls with all this going on and I’m sure this isn’t even everything as you have work too. You are not alone in feeling off. Made some huge changes in life but our personalities are of a addictive nature and it will take some time to rewire our brains and our habits. Just be patient my friend. I know it is super exhausting right now but that balance is achievable. Have you talked to anyone about your ADHD and PTSD? :hugs:
@just_laura So glad that your dad was discharged and is now home. I’m sure that is a huge relief. Hope you enjoyed that Taco Bell! How are you feeling otherwise? Hope the symptoms are better since you had a few days off and I’m hoping they don’t return now that you are back at work :crossed_fingers:

Totally in the right direction. Glad you got your appointment today. Are you able to send messages to your doctors through a portal or something? Maybe send her a message about the nicotine pouches?
@catmancam Thank you friend :hugs: Those are some great numbers Cam! My goodness – I am so sorry that you are going through all that and it is very scary indeed. Did you hear back from your doctor? Please keep pushing for answers or help as I don’t think 2 weeks waiting with these symptoms is healthy. :hugs:
@butterflymoonwoman Oh I’m so glad that your son’s chair is finally being delivered. Sorry that you were in a mood earlier – glad you found Christmas music to lift your spirits :hugs:
@heath YEAH!!! Way to go friend. 1 year milestone is fantastic! :tada: :tada:

So lovely to see you checking in – was just thinking of you this morning. 100 days away from your 1 year! That is amazing girl :muscle: UGH – I hate that smell when you first turn on the heating – I tell myself I will do it early fall so that I can air out the house when I first turn it on and every year I forget. Hope you get warm and cozy soon
@raspberry Way to go with your 2 months of sobriety :muscle: Glad you have a solid plan for tomorrow. I also find it helpful to have a drink of something in your hand (lemonade, coke etc) as it keeps people from asking you if you want something and you also have something to sip on while engaging in the social gathering. Remember that we are always here if you need any support during your event – have fun!
@scaredsmol YEAH 3 weeks – way to go with your amazing milestone :muscle: just keep working your recovery and taking it ODAAT that daunting feeling will get easier and eventually disappear
@ccn31 Nicely done Kara! 80 days strong :tada: :tada: Keep up the amazing work
@noshame great to see you checking in! nicely done with 70 days no week and 200+ of no nicotine. You are crushing it friend. Not today Satan! That is right friend – you don’t need that BS escape (which really is not an escape but rather adding weights holding you down). Keep strong Matt – you are doing great!
@eke Impressive numbers! So sorry to hear about your back! YIKES!! Glad you are in touch with your recovery tools and that the stretches are helping. Drinking most def will not solve anything. You are doing great – I hope that you start feeling some relief soon

I am sorry friend. This is a nasty cycle and can keep us on the merry go around indefinitely. I am glad you are reaching out to your HP and going to the meetings. Please continue to do so. Only you can break that link. We will be here to support and cheer you on and I do know how badly you want to break free. I see how well you do when you are clean and sober. Hold onto those feelings and at the same time remember how nothing is gained by a relapse. Sending you love and strength. Counting to 10 and deep breathing simultaneously helps calm me when dealing with irritations – good luck

Checking in on Thursday evening
701 days free of alcohol and weed
1116 days free of cigarettes
Fatigue has been super high for me today. I have been fighting with myself all day and did accomplish a few things. Had some emotional moments today. a little screaming, a little crying and a little just deep breathing with a heavy exhale – helped a bit but also tiring. Ready for bed. Hope I get so sleep soon as I do have to be up early tomorrow. It seems that I don’t have any trouble getting up early unless I need to be up early LOL.
Alright friends - I bid you a good night - wishing you all a wonderful addiction free evening / day - sending you all so much love

Thursday night pre-bedtime check-in.
Big day. Hustled from 05:30 to 21:30 without a decent break. Solo parenting after work, with my wife on a conference all day today, and working 4 evening or overnight shifts in a row.
Proud of myself for staying sober tonight after I put my daughter to bed.
I really wanted an escape before and during the evening housework, but I just kept pushing through on my own. I’m not at a point of life these days where I have time to sit in front of a TV or read for leisure as a break. It will come back, but not for now.
Take care. See you tomorrow. :wave:t3::muscle:t2:

Good morning in the winter wonderland here. It has snowed a lot and everything looks beautiful. I don’t like winter so much but snow is always magical :snowflake::snowflake:
Checking in on day 29. Tonight I’m going to an in person meeting again. It has become my routine. Have a great Friday you all

I slept well. Had some strange dreams of course but that’s OK. They’re part of normal life. Not like the zombie like comatose state I used to fell in when I was under the influence of this and that. Never again.

Today’s my one day off. Will be going to Van Gogh Museum this morning where’s a special exhibit of Impressionist art. And after that get some healthy stuff and make soup. It’s the weather for it. Let’s have as good a day as we all can friends. Sober and clean or nothing will come from it. Love from my little square.

@Heath Huge congrats Ewan!
@StacyAnn 3 days, a year or three years StacyAnn, it doesn’t matter, just keep going one day at a time and you’ll be fine. Good work & keep going.
@Eke Always good to see you Eke. Sorry for your back. Healing vibes your way.

297 days AF

There was ice in the icebath this morning. I mean big ice floes. And we got snow. Yesterday after sauna I rubbed my body with snow

Had strength training introduction yesterday. Was a bit excited before but the guys were super nice and competent. Will start with a circle for 4 to 6 weeks and then we will slowly add 1, 2 machines every week. Nice, new world conquered by stepping out of comfort zone once more.

Now I got so many physical triggers to use. The easiest way to reboot my body and mind.

Will stay sober for sure.

Disclaimer: I would never recommend my way or just physical triggers as a way to deal with addiction. So stay cool.

Love you guys

Congratulations for your 1 year milestone @Heath Ewan! :confetti_ball::confetti_ball::confetti_ball:
And @StacyAnn for the 3 days, we all know that those first days are difficult! Well done!
2 whole months are something to cheer for to @Raspberry :confetti_ball: Nice!!

☆ Day 2256 :walking_woman:
Woke up angry and irritated. Slept very bad with much pain. More then 2 months since I broke my feet. I want my normal life back :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Is this all giving me cravings? Yes it does. But I’m not going to listen to it.

Today? Reading, lego, called off the goldsmith class because I have no transport. Lend our car to our eldest.
Have a good day ore night all :raising_hand_woman:

Day 33 and I’m struggling hard not to relapse.
It’s been snowing all night, about 40cm. Really can’t stand it, makes me think about who I’ve lost because she loves snow. Hope y’all doing better, stay safe out there.

I know you know but what good would using do? It won’t make you forget. It won’t bring her back. It’s just addiction seeing its chance to sink its claws back into you. I’m sorry. Keep going. Glad you’re here posting. We’re in this together Moe. Keep going. You’re not alone. :people_hugging:

You should be proud! Glad you didn’t give in and have stacked up another sober day. You are right, that time for relaxing and enjoying a leisurely read will come …just keep pushing forward :muscle:t4:
@Sunshine-girl loving the routine…you are crushing it my friend. 1 month tomorrow… keep up the solid momentum
@soberwalker awe man I’m sorry Claudia. I can imagine how hard this is. Not being able to get in your walks or do your CrossFit and on top of that have issues with sleep…it’s all overwhelming. I do hope the next three weeks go by super fast and your foot is fully healed. Glad you will not give into the urges sorry that you are missing your goldsmith class. Hopefully you will have a wonderful fun filled day :people_hugging::pray:t4:
@Moe_L double 3’s is great work :muscle:t4:. Sorry for the struggles. Remember that the drinking will offer no help or comfort. Sorry for your loss Moe. As Menno said, drinking will not bring her back. Stay connected and reach out for some irl support (a virtual meeting if you aren’t able to get to a physical one). ODAAT :muscle:t4:

Checking in…not a great night. I know drinking/ smoking would only make things harder in all respects. This too shall pass (just read this earlier and haven’t used the saying in some time - was a great reminder). :pray:t4:

@One4theroad thank you 🩵 and that makes sense, I have no energy at all for some time now.
@Heath congrats on your year :tada::trophy::star2:
@Butterflymoonwoman that must be such a relief :raised_hands:t2: sorry it’s taken so long though :pensive:
@Raspberry congrats on 60 days :tada: enjoy the event
@scaredsmol congrats on 3 weeks :tada:
@Ccn31 congrats on 80 days :tada:
@Noshame congrats on 70 days no weed :tada: and 200+ days no nicotine :tada:
@Eke sending healing vibes :sparkles: enjoy the retreat
@JazzyS thank you  he did call, we are doubling my current medication, just 1 extra pill for one week, then 2 extra going forwards. He’s also asking their diabetes nurse to contact me to discuss a ‘second agent’ as he doesn’t think the increase will be enough with my level being as high as it is. Trying not to overthink on it  I’m sorry you’re suffering too :people_hugging:🩵
@SoberWalker I’m sorry you’re still in pain :people_hugging: sending healing vibes :sparkles:

1564 days no alcohol.
1029 days no cocaine.
43 days no vape.
16 days no binge-eating.

The doctor called, we are doubling my medication, just one extra pill for the first week, then a second extra pill going forwards after that. He also thinks that won’t be enough, and that I’ll need a ‘second agent’ with my levels being so high. He’s going to ask the diabetes nurse to contact me asap to discuss. I have some more test strips arriving within the next few hours, so I can keep a closer eye on it again. Along with my other symptoms, my chest pains are more regular, and I also have pains in my lower legs, feet, and toes today.

Therapy today, my first session in eleven days. I’ve been more stable without it, but that makes sense since therapy is deep psychological work around my trauma history.

I also reduced my dose again last night, of the first medication, so I’m prepared for the return of the withdrawal symptoms, but I’ll be okay.

Thanks Cam. It is just taking everything one moment at a time. Soo Great to hear that the doctor called and is taking action. Hope you start seeing a change in symptoms soon

Ooh … this may be a rough week ahead. Did you mention this to your doctor? Not sure if one will affect the other but don’t want you going through any unnecessary distress.
Good luck with therapy today. Hope the travel is smooth and easy :pray:t4:
