Halfway through a 24hr shift at work. Been busy so far during the day. Got in a couple of different trainings in. One with an external partner and one just amongst ourselves.
Just got a stretch session in, back is feeling a lot better and had a couple of strenuous moments today.
Will give the kids a video call soon, amazing we live in a time with such technology readily available.

So like I said, I don’t always accomplish what I set out to do for the day. After back tracking to see where I went off course, it actually sounds insane My goal for the day was to set up the tree and decorate. In order to do that, I needed to clear a space. So I sprinkled carpet powder to prepare for vacuuming. While that sat, I figured I should do the dishes. But first, I noticed the dish drainer looking crusty. I took that apart, scrubbed it and the counter underneath, then moved onto the stove(which needed it more that I thought) Some stains on the cabinets caught my eye and I filled a bucket with soapy water, intending to follow up with a coat of scratch filler. Except while I was cleaning them, I found a few loose knobs I thought should be tightened. This led me to tighten everything in the house with screws in it! Ending in my bedroom, I sorted a random pile of clothes, trying on a pair of pants my friend gave me. They were short(typical issue for me ), but would gain 2" if I unhemmed them, so I obviously did that. By this time, I had to start dinner. I realized I hadn’t vacuumed, so I did while it was cooking. I remembered my daughter’s advent calendar that I ordered before Thanksgiving arrived today(2 day shipping my ass ), so we opened 9 days of surprises! Then she wanted to watch Bean, the Movie…and that was the rest of my night
Never polished the cabinets. Never did the dishes. Never got out ANY Christmas decorations!!! Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s brain sabotages them like this Now I have to swallow the frog tomorrow.
Day 25
After noon check-in, Not sleep well yesterday and am planning to sleep sometime, waiting for milk to melt to make a Custard apple shake.
These days I’m smoking more than usual, when I was drinking I’m not smoking cigerates. but when I’m not drink, I used to smoke. I want to quit this habit also, Otherwise I will get addicted to this also. Im realized that I get addicted to everything very fast.

One of the best episodes.
On your day of half finished jobs, I can relate! I get in a kind of frenzy when I start with things to do and an empty space to do them. Ends up with the job I meant to do being unfinished too.
I started a little mental hack to deal with it which is to write down the OTHER things I notice on a piece of paper to do them later once the main job is done. Then, when I run out of time at the end of the day I just throw that piece of paper away. If something routinely turns up on those scraps of paper it lodges in my mind and I do it in the end, but most of those little things just do not require doing. It’s an adaptation of a life hack from Atomic Habits which is a great book about this stuff.

I recognize your story about replacing your addiction for something else. I did so too. And still concider myself as a person who has a senstivity for addiction. I think it’s still the brain who wants a quick dopamine fix.

Overslept myself Had set a alarmclock at my watch but didn’t push the activate button.
So had to hurry to my appointment at the compagny doctore, but made it on time!
Did my grocery shopping afterwards and can relax now.

Picture made during my holiday in France last september. Couldn’t do much because I injured my foot already. This day the weather was fine so I could swim. I was the only one in the pool and the water was only 18 degrees celcius (64,4 fahrenheit) But it was fun and I enjoyed the fact that this I could do without pain. I made a picture of my feet when I sat in the sun enjoying the warmth on my skin. When I saw the picture afterwards it made me think of an angel because the shadows in the pool reminds me of wings.
Tomorrow I can see those 2 feet in real life again

What the hell is going on in my head at night? Then in the morning everything is like, cool, fine, ya, ok.

Wife needed some rest so I helped with our baby boy

I woke up early
4:45am to be at work for 7am
I’m happy I did that to get the momentum to get to work
Strange dreams about drinking last night
Maybe feel down I’m fighting a craving for alcohol
