Cautiously optimistic about this sciatica this evening, pain is down to a steady 3 or 4/10 and mobility is starting to increase.
Did a little light stationary bike followed by stretching today, along with the all the other stuff I’ve been doing all day. Will do another 15mins bike before bed.
Other than that was a good day with the family, tried to take the kids to the roller rink but it was still closed for the holidays. So we got ice cream and went back home and they spent the afternoon playing with the neighborhood kids

Makes sense that you’d have to drive into the city to do the practical test too, more places to do tricks:skateboard::joy::joy:

Productive day yesterday, walked for an hour or so, ate nice food, saw some snow, and did some life admin. Not the tax return yet :hear_no_evil:

I’ve traded in all my Echo type things with screens and used the credits towards a coffee pod machine. So it’s an option alongside our drip coffee. I only had to spend less than twenty quid in the end which was so satisfying and I no longer have obsolete hardware in my flat, win win. I shall be nicely caffeinated.

Nothing much planned today, I have Pilates and a walk planned. I’ve been also trying to tweak my online usage to a more structured level, and using the rest of the time wisely. Happy 24 :v:t2:

Day 818

Checking in on the last night on holiday with my son. Dreading going back home. But at the same time excited to see my girls. Feeling SUPER detached and having a hard time staying grounded. Hopefully some rest will help. :crossed_fingers:t3: goodnight my sober friends :people_hugging::heart:odaat

@Mno Back at you, friend

@Lainenicole96 Always happy to see someone back :purple_heart:

@ATAedan I also teach in Asia (Japan). Living abroad brings its own challenges when it comes to getting support.

Lovely turn of phrase! The actual thing is far from lovely though! :joy:

Oh I know. I’m avoidant, and usually do extreme completion tactics. All in one day.

Day:

1 year - Lessons Learned

This past year has taught me more about myself and life than ever before. With many more years behind me than ahead, I’ve realized I can’t afford to waste any of the time I have left on things that just don’t matter.

I’ve made mistakes—some I’m deeply sorry for, others I regret terribly—but I’ve decided to stop carrying them with me.
Worrying, apologizing, or seeking forgiveness won’t change the past, and I don’t have time to dwell on it any longer.

For too long, life felt like a blur. The edges of my memories softened and rounded, months and years faded into one another. Sobriety brought clarity. Life feels crisp and vivid again, and I intend to keep it that way.

I’ve learned to value my time and my own company, finding peace in solitude. At the same time, I treasure the moments I share with my wife, son, family, and a few close friends. These are the people I gladly give my time to.

The rest? I’ll guard it carefully. Too much has already slipped by and I want to savor what’s left and live it on my terms.

Sobriety has taught me the value of time and the importance of staying true to myself.

We all have regrets, missteps, and words we wish we could take back. But one thing I’ve never regretted—not even for a single second—is choosing to be sober. That choice was a gift that I’ll cherish every day.

Checking in! :wave:t2: Day 50 - nice round digits
Me weekend starts here! I don’t have big plans, gonna get my house cleaned up, while listening to my audio book (same procedure as every week!), and after that I’ll call my mum
to see if she’s up for a visit! Have a coffe and play a board game maybe!

Yesterday after work I came out of the office to this sunset, nice way of ending the work week!

Checking in. 48 days AF, 19 without weed. I stayed up really late (3 am) and woke up after 5hrs sleep. Feeling a little bit tired but nothing a nap won’t fix. I had again really vivid and lucid dreams which are pretty neat because I couldn’t dream at all when actively smoking and drinking. Just had my first cup of coffee and I’m feeling surprisingly good. Gonna take a walk today and watch movies and read a book. Being sober feels so great, I’m so happy that I don’t have withdrawals anymore and I can live my little life without cravings, hangover and grogginess. I know my mental health problems will catch me today in some point, but I’ll try to stay positive and distract them by being active.

I wish you all a wonderful sober day/evening! We got this, soul tribe!

8pm Sunday evening. Still 34°C after reaching 41°C earlier.
Struggling today with no A/C sitting in front of a fan with a squirty water bottle. Not a fan of this weather pardon the pun.

Sounds like you’ve devised a good A/C for yourself. For me I would dampen my shirt or sleep w a damp towel over me. Hope your temps will quit being so hot! 2025 best wishes to you @Seb
