Checking in daily to maintain focus #72

I’m sorry about the difficult day you have Julia.
Have you ever considered a vollunteer job to try to get used to work again but more low profile?
Just an idea?
Fear for something that we did years ago bit want to do again can grow big in our heads.
I ones haven’t been to a dentist for 11 years (!).
I got nightmares because of it but made a plan how to overcome my fear. So first time I went I only showed my teeth and that was it :hugs: So I build it up with babysteps. Looking back to it I had way to many fear for it and I regret not going sooner. Hope you will find your way too.

Couple of big anniversaries today! @Rob11 @Petr massive congrats!

Checking in sober on my last day of holiday. Gym every day will maybe have offset some of the eating :joy: but no booze which is the main thing for me. We’ve been to this hotel 5 or 6 times but this was the first sober for me and has been the best visit yet.

Day 292

Going ok. The cat is snoring in her cat doughnut.. It’s cute. Candles are lit. It’s chilly. I’m off until New Year’s Eve. Focus on friends and family, and nothing else for a while. How I can love people. I’ve got my baking and cooking grocery list ready to pick up early tomorrow. For once, I will get everything I need and not have to go back last minute in a panic. Lies lies lies, yeaahh! I will try.

The new year looks quite strange. So I’ll forget about it for a while.

Lots of love and enjoy your sober days :two_hearts::snowman_with_snow:

Checking in for my 42 days of alcohol sobriety. I was able to survive last night’s company party without a drink and a smoke and so grateful for that.

I think someone else mentioned it on here, but baby steps is never a bad thing. I cant say I was in the same situation, but when I started in a new field I did that…starting with something lower stakes (like part time) or a position that is more flexible and then go from there. I had worked from home for over 10 years and have always worked generally alone so it was a big change, starting as a casual staff was really good at first, then I felt pretty quickly that I wanted more time and moved to part-time and now I have FT position.
Nothing happens over night but we have super powered brains that want to figure it all out at once, and worry about everything that could go wrong…some things might, andbthen we have to learn to listen to our early signs so we can adapt, pivot or change gears…baby steps my friend, and wishing you so much luck. Xo.

Day 17 - Checking in, a very full week, but I am staying on track. Sticking with my workout plan and making sure to eat my meals in to. I can really feel my habits beginning to change.

That being said, I am focused and aware of my temptations to drink and stray off the positive path I am on.

Looking forward to getting some well deserved rest

@JazzyS The fam and I enjoyed the first two Sonic movies. You should check em out. We’ll prolly go see the 3rd after the holidays.

Day 1159 AF
Day 17 caffeine free

Wud up, fam.

Work has been slow. Didn’t do much, but watch training videos. I’m feeling off today. The left side of my head keeps on tingling.

I had a vivid drinking dream last night. In the dream, I took a couple of sips of a dark IPA from a glass jar. It’s weird because I’ve never liked dark IPA beer. It gave me the nastiest stomachaches.

Anyway, my eldest has been a smart ass recently. He’s at that age. I took away his iPad. The little man’s still dealing with a cold. I was supposed to drive up to the office tomorrow for our holiday potluck and gift exchange, but I am not feeling it. I just put gas on the car, and I’m gonna waste a full tank driving up there, and I don’t feel like waking up at 3 a.m.

The wife and I have been sharing our childhood traumas. It’s a trip because we have never connected like this before. I feel like I should’ve told her sooner. Things may have turned out differently. Or at least she would’ve understood why I acted the way I did when I was drunk. I was always too embarrassed to talk about it. I don’t even feel comfortable talking about it here. Maybe in the future, on a private thread or something. I do recall PMing someone here in the past, but I deleted my message.

Well, that’s all from me. Gonna do some PT exercises, and then crash out. Tomorrow’s a new day.

Take care. ODAAT

It was a crazy busy lunch shift! Luckily it was expected, for scheduling purposes  Still tho, it was as busy as most Friday nights, with the benefit of being able to enjoy the rest of my day after! And I did :relieved:

I saw my daughter’s report card and was pleasantly surprised. Besides failing math(which I expected) and just barely passing science, the rest of her grades were in the 90s. High 90s! The math AND science teacher is the same woman who waited 3 months to tell me my daughter wasn’t handing homework in all year, so by that point it was too late to do anything about it! Realizing this, I’m starting to believe my daughter isn’t the whole problem here  Maybe it’s just me :woman_shrugging:

We had a nice evening together. She helped clean a bit and then we made gingerbread houses and other xmas crafts. Then I gave her a manicure. The next 2 days are wrapping presents and the finishing touches for xmas. Then no more worrying about it! Have a great day everyone
