Checking in daily to maintain focus #75

@acromouse Thank you. Yes its not far about 4½ miles. This was taken this morning around 06.30, before we went to work.
Its so important to make your work/life balance go in your favour and if that means getting out of bed slightly earlier then so be it. :+1:

I meant to ask… does the location matter (like RD Chicago) or similar. I don’t want to impose lol :sparkles:🩷

@CR84 Thank you so much, you’re awesome :cherry_blossom: :sparkles:

@TS66 Thank you so much and you’re absolutely right. I’ve been trying to count my blessings. I’m grateful now no matter how stretchy today was. It’s just a few more hours.:cherry_blossom::sparkles:

Checking in on Day 23. Early meeting followed by some nice hard workout so far today. Feeling pretty chill for now. Also fighting the voice saying the other shoe will drop. It’s too quiet lol I saw a few of us have had some of the worst 24… I’m sending healing vibes to all. :sparkles:🩷

Nah, just crash whatever meeting you in the mood for :joy:
No, honestly. I’ve been to meetings hosted all over the world. You can usually just log in and listen without turning your cam on.
There are some affinity meetings that might ask you to turn your cam on at least for a short moment, like women’s only meetings and such.

The one I attend currently every day is hosted in LA and it is 10pm for them and 7am for me and all the other folks from Europe. There are also people from NewZeland or Australia there and it’s 12 hours later for them.

So just take one that’s convenient for you in terms of time, try out a few different ones and find your tribe.

Yes, thanks.I know exactly what happened and basically I gave up on wanting to be sober just long enough to take the first drink. Not necessarily a craving even, just complete victim mindset. “God has taken so much from me this year (literally multiple body parts, to be fair) why would He keep me sober? Why should I even want to make God happy anyway? Nothing matters, might as well drink.” And it happened so fast. Like others have said, the relapse happens before the drink and thats exactly what happened here. I need to figure out where that awful mindset comes from and what triggers it, but i have a new therapist appointment on Friday.

Need to work the program harder, clearly and get a sponsor

Great job! I am glad you are here.

I finished errands early and stopped for a brisket kolache. Played my Immaculate Grid game (I only play baseball, but it has NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, and soccer); for me, this and Daily Walkoff are fun ways to distract myself. Read a little quit lit already, so I’m going to get some work done today, maybe take a nap this afternoon. I’m grateful for the peace and quiet.

I hit that point too, kept resetting last month. I’m on day two AGAIN. I think it’s important that we keep trying, ya know? You got this, everyone has their own path in recovery, don’t compare yours to others, it’s your own unique journey. We’re humans, and these are learning experiences ( I hate calling them mistakes) here’s to your day one!!

Checking in. Sicker today than yesterday, but had to come to work for a couple hours, no one else available for my client (of course there isn’t :woman_facepalming:t3:). Trying to be positive, but lately I’m just not. Cut some people off on social media, setting boundaries, I’m over it. Over disrespectful people more than anything. I guess I’m finding my worth, or something. Hopefully I can change my attitude around, but for the moment I’m pretty sick of people.

I know it is important to keep trying. I love you keep coming back here even when you struggle. @Catmama23

Prior to my one year sobriety date I relapsed and was away for a few months.

Congrats on your sober days and glad you are here.

Good afternoon friends, day 38. Working the ‘late’ shift this week for on-call. That’s cool as it allows us to go to Mass together in the mornings and also breakfast from time to time.
Have an awesome day!

I found this helpful for problem-solving and breaking behavioral patterns.

18hours into day 16… everyday is getting more full with responsibilities and being willing to be there for support for my children (one 13 yrs, is difficult to get into school regularly and high pitched voice one minute and nice as pie the next, and one 16 yrs, I have to be on his case constantly to revise for GCSEs). plus i over did it yesterday with sanding floorboards and totally couldnt walk last night or this morning, ibuprofen has worked wonders and very grateful for that! next is pancakes and hopefully children will be settled and get up in time tmrw morning soi can get back to work on time! grateful to be sober and focused on filling my days with a new life. and have a balance somehow and find a moment to chill and mindfully sleep and be grateful and have faith that everything and eveyone will be taken care of as i don’t control lifes terms :weary::joy::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:
