Morning check in. Day 4+
Weird start to the day. Tired. I already need a nap.
Keep going and rest as much as you can. It’s normal to feel exhausted, your body is working hard. Day 5 is coming right up- proud of you!
Checking in on day 213
I’m enjoying my week alone now that I’m settling into so much time to think and feel and be independent. It’s been nice so far. I can’t wait for this evening to continue my time to myself. No need for drinking.
Saw this and wanted to share ..more and more people are finding their way towards sobriety
. It’s a beautiful trend ![]()
That’s great ! Where did you see this?
This is wonderful ![]()
524 days AF
Checking in, still sober..
And very much committed to sobriety.
A bit sickysh stomach shaky thing, but also not too bad.
This weekend there was a party in our village. “Kirmes”… But not the one with the carousel, the one that has the main reason of getting drunk. They also drove around in the village as a starter on Friday and finishing on Sunday. Interesting to watch this happening. What kind of sounds they are making. Ouuuuuhhhh öähhh ah. Ahja. And they seem to be proud. Cause they feel belonging. I feel like observing another species. And am so happy about my sober, relaxed, sporty, nappy weekend! Gosh.
The other costume it (alc) came around was last weekend when a woman who is my neighbor came around. With a bottle of wine. Dressed in a luxurious cooling accessory and as luxurious glasses in the other hand. “no thanks I don’t drink” “never?” “no” “realy”? Blahh ![]()
No, never.
And your shitty costumed substance smells like shit! ![]()
It comes around dressed in so many different masks. At the end, it is toxine.
Stay save!
Love you guys ![]()
140 days. Went to festival yesterday for a day and spent time with old buddies, dancing and chatting. Had my cool bag with cans of coke and orange fanta, and packets of Haribos for a sugar kick! Alcohol free. Grateful for being able to be present and enjoy sobriety and festivals and music. ![]()

It was an IG post…don’t know the poster and I am glad I took this snapshot cause I lost the reel in the feed.
from my position, as someone who has gone through these motions with alcohol (now weed, I still cannot properly overcome them), there is absolutely no shame because the light needs to shine on your new ability to not use. Flip the script on this story, burry the shame.
I succeeded in not using, despite being challenged by a deeply difficult circumstance brought on by my addiction.

what this world needs is for humans to feel. a great ‘‘feeling person’’ like yourself, like myself, are needed at the moment. you are needed by the world simply because your feeling senses are tuned in, sensitive, perceptive. if you’re not frustrated at the moment, with the cruelty we see, wowy…
thank you for sharing.
Saved and shared! This is exactly it. I’m happy that people are making these choices. I’m happy my nephews (18 & 24) have broken the generational curse neither drink or do drugs GO THEM. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Day 71. I am feeling tired at afternoons and evenings. This has been going on about a week now. I tought first that it is because of work but maybe the primary reason is paws (I quess it can take 6 months or more that the brains are recovering and making you exhausted). Still I know I have some fatigue by the work but holidays are coming soon so it will good.
How long can the recovery phase and fatigue last after 25 years of drinking? Google says 1-6 months but I quess you know better here. Ps. I have been sleeping quite ok.
Day 10. I haven’t been to a meeting in a week or so.
I feel one coming up for accountability.
I am grateful for day 10
Checking in day 553 AF ![]()
Thanks to whoever posted the Spotify link. I love opening this thread and being taken straight there…
Checking in day 180 af.
Looking at this for over a week now and tomorrow I’m allowed to open it..
I’m even learning patience through sobriety ![]()
Today I accepted that my mental health is not in a good place. I’ve been to this place before and am often able to accept the discomfort, knowing full well that it is temporary. But there’s a line. A line between cyclical depression and chronic ideation.
Today I have to admit I’ve crossed that line.
So, im showing up to say it out loud.
I’m not ok. I don’t know if/when I will be ok.
I need to be held accountable by my sober community
(Even though, at this point none of you know me) ![]()
Good to see you again! Even though you feel you are not ok, I am glad to see that you are ok enough to say it, some don’t. I don’t much to offer, just a sympathetic ear and a virtual hug.
Great to hear from you @MrCade! Wish it were under better circumstances. If no one has told you today, I see you, I hear you and I love you friend. Sending huge hugs
